I would expect that a good majority would be, and I am too. I think the country has made some bad decisions in the past decade but it's still my country.
Proud? Why would I be proud to be an American Citizen? I and anyone else who was born did nothing to become an American citizen. Pride should be reserved for accomplishments, not by things that were just handed to you. Be happy, being proud makes no sense.

I wasn't aware that I had to do anything about it. I don't think that there is anything I can do about it anyway. I'm not complaining and I'm dealing with what our current government is, so I don't know why you're even asking me this.

to paraphrase George Carlin, it is stupid to be proud of something that you are born with. no one says they are proud to be left handed, proud to have a predisposition for colon cancer... its ok to be happy to be an american. be happy. but not proud, too much pride is a bad thing.
I wouldn't be. am British and i also hate this country. we both have terrible history. witch should be remembered and forgot. I'd love to be a switzerlander (lol). no bad history to speak of and is a beautiful country
I think taking pride in your country could be interpreted as being fascist, so people shy away from making these claims. I personally think the two should not be equated - it's rather silly.

Well actually I'm British citizen so technically I don't count but who cares if someone has "pride" in their country. It's how they feel, you can't take it away.

Well if you are unhappy with certain things, you could take some sort of action. Why deal with it as opposed to trying to improving the situation?
