What is the point if being religious?--MERCENARY--
I think its main appeal is reassurance that things will work out for you or simply to simplify how you see things. Complication can really destroy you, just trying to wrap your brain around some of it, and in that sense I definitely see the appeal of some religions.

Some religions, but not Christianity. The Bible flat-out says "If you're a Christian, you're in for tough times".

Yes, and it follows that up by promising Christians eternal bliss when they die. It also says the meak shall inherit the earth. I mean, okay, so you're going to get persecuted, but in the process will win eternal salvation and righteousness and the favor of God. I mean, that's not exactly that rough.

Why not give other religions, a chance?You don't tell people to give religion a chance. I chose not to believe in God, and to have no religion, so why force something else on me?
