For all of you who dont't know what straight edge is it is abstinence from alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs. Straight edge is also refered to as XXX or sXe. So are you straight edge or not?InstantClassic1

Well first off you aren't Straight Edge if you just happen to not use drugs or choose to not drink. Being Edge does not constitute you never having a drink or using drugs. Its a lifelong choice. You're not edge if you are abstinent from drugs or alcohol because of your religion. You're Edge because you choose to be. You're either Edge or not, meaning that its not a "for now" choice, or a "so far" thing. Its a personal decision to keep yourself physically and mentally healthy.

Secondly, I've been reading that alot of people believe that being Edge also means no sex [sexual abstinence]. WRONG! Straight Edge includes no PROMISCUITY, meaning no random sexual partners for pleasure. This goes hand in hand with the main aspect of keeping ones mind and body healthy. If you're not promiscuous then you can't contract an STD or VD.

If you're gonna try and post stuff about a belief/life choice make sure you know what you're talking about kiddies.

And if you're still wondering, yes I'm Straight Edge, going on 2 and a half years now.

I'm un-straight edge. I smoke, I'm a heavy drinker and do drugs once in a while.

Plus I have casual sex with different partners.

Yeah, it's mostly because there is this girl that I really like and for some reason I decided that I wouldn't do it anymore because of how I feel about her. I got used to it now so it isn't that hard (no pun intended). :)

I used to be sXe, one of my friends inspired me to be, but after a year and a half or so... I just realized that it wasn't really helping me with ANYTHING... it was just limiting me...
