You know im an agnostic person but I was thinking about atheists. I mean what, as an atheist, do you value in life seeing as there is not really any point in it for you to live? What is the point of staying alive if there is nothing. Im not bashing your beliefs or anything because i feel the same way. Non-atheists see that there is a point but as atheist or agnostics we really don't.

Dude, you make it sound like athiests are like zombies. Like just because we don't believe in any kinda religion. Just so you know... Religion is NOT a reason to have life... you know, i value my friends. My family. and... pretty much everything that happens. God has nothing to do with it.

I know this life is real and there is no evidence for a second one, so Im not going to waste my time preparing for it, instead Im going to enjoy the life I know to be real.

You give your own life meaning. God and religion is just one of the many methods people use to find meaning in their lives. Unfortunately, it makes some people think it is the only way to find meaning.

I don't beleive in God, but I still derive meaning in my life through achievement and success, as well as gaining knowlege. Even if I don't end up curing cancer or creating a program to solve some problem, I can still know my life had meaning to me for the things I've done for others and the enjoyment I've had in my life. Where does God come into play in enjoying life there?

I'd hate to break it to you (well, not really), but guess what? You're an atheist. You're an agnostic atheist, but an atheist nevertheless. As an agnostic, you don't believe in God, regardless of whether you're sure or not of his existence. People who believe in God are called theists, while people who do not are called atheists. There is no middle ground. The term "agnostic" cannot stand alone; it has to be proceeded by theist or atheist.

Here's an example. If I were to ask someone the question "Does God exist?" the would respond in one of the following ways.

"Yes"-Indicating that they are a theist. They are sure of the existence of God.

"No"-Indicating that they are an atheist. They are sure that God does not exist.

"I think so" - Indicating that they are an *agnostic* theist. They believe in God, but do not claim that God is real to others. They keep their beliefs to themselves because they aren't confident in their beliefs.

"I don't think so" The opposite of what's above.

Here's how I'm sure you'd respond. "I don't know." Well, then you have to ask yourself, "Do I believe in God?" regardless of whether or not you're sure of his existence. It's a personal opinion. If you don't believe in God, you're an agnostic atheist. If you do, then you're an agnostic theist.

I'm going to assume that by you're perception of the definition of "agnostic" you're going to conclude the latter, much like myself. Congratulations! You're an atheist and you can answer your own question!

I'm pretty sure almost everyone seeks happiness, regardless of belief.

Also, having no defined future is much more enticing than believing we have a determined path. The door to knowledge and satisfaction is always open, and, best of all, not really far away.

Nobody's life has more of a purpose than mine. They like to think it does 'cause it makes them feel important. They can live on that crutch all they want but the moment they get high and mighty, that's when it crosses the line.

You can't have less of a purpose when that thing never had a purpose to begin with.
