Planning and irrational have nothing to do with one another? If the base of the plan is irrational, the whole plan is irrational making the two inseparable. And why would you want to save my quote? So you can have more stuff to show off along with you psychology degree that your oh so proud of? Wutever floats your boat.An irrational plan is still a plan. Whether or not a premeditated act is justified by logic does not change the fact that it is a premeditated act.JJ_Productions
Damn Raw, you're a fitness expert, have your Bachelor's, and have an easy going job?rawsavon

[QUOTE="JJ_Productions"]Lol tell him again. That guy is a real pompous jerk. You have no idea what people who attempt suicide are thinking. I myself at points in my life considered "opting out" but when i look back at those times i say to myself "what the heck was I thinking?". So no, i'd say in most cases, people are sincerely going through depressing times and thus make irrational decisions.

Since it was said about me, can I sig this please?
I will add it to my collection.
On topic:
Not thinking rationally =/= not planning it out (which is what we are talking about).
Just look at serial killers or assassination attempts...they were not thinking rationally, but they sure as heck plan it out most of the time (almost all of the time in fact).
Thinking rationally has nothing to do with planning

So you can have more stuff to show off along with you psychology degree that your oh so proud of? Wutever floats your boat. This whole conversation that you jumped in half way through was about suicides (in general) being a planned event or a spontaneous event.
The research shows that it is (almost) always a planned event.
Now you can argue all you want about if they are thinking rationally or not.
-that is an entirely different debate (IMO some are, but most are not)
...but that is neither here nor there. People plan things that others label as irrational all the time
Thanks for the permission

You totally misinterpreted what he said. He was saying that you don't have to think rationally in order to formulate a plan. Not that the plan had to be rational.

Somebody buy this woman a gun.
EDIT: Seriously though, that's gotta hurt. She's the luckiest person, and at the same time the unluckiest.
She'd put it in her mouth, pull the trigger, the bullet would go through her cheek, out the window and brain a dog-walker. She'd be fine, of course.Somebody buy this woman a gun.
