Didn't we all already know that Australians are bigoted as hell?  The only English speaking group of whites more bigoted are South Africans.

gamerguru100

You got a reliable unbiased source for that? Also, a large minority if not a majority of white South Africans speak Afrikaans.

A source for what?  Australians being the 2nd most bigoted or South Africa being the 1st most bigoted?

I love making racist cracks. Sorry. However, I do not have any hate for any particular ethnicity. I also make all sorts of discriminating remarks when I drive, nobody is safe. I am adamant about pointing out the 3 O's (Ovaries, Old and Oriental) when I drive and actively avoid them when possible. The other day a cabbie kept swerving into my lane without signaling, I felt like telling him "I know there's no lanes in the sky when you drive your carpet, but there's lanes down here!". It's difficult to make up ethnic cracks for white people though...I usually just say something belligerent. What is it when you don't hate any race but you still make fun of them? Including your own? I'll say I am just politically incorrect.

I would find it hard to vote in a similar poll.

Human-after-all

It's called being a bigot.

[QUOTE="crazyguy111"] I knew someone would bring up the topic of America. But Americans treat their native population quite(although far from perfect) well compared to other countries. They have affirmative action, communities set aside for them, and many white Americans have Native blood in them. Native American history is taught in schools as well. We also have many Native American politicians and actors, in fact, Obama is said to be mixed with some Native American blood.

WilliamRLBaker

this.

....LOL wow how delusional.. do you actually think the economically poor Indians actually like living on reservations where they can make no money, and have no individual rights as tribes *even though they were guaranteed Autonomy as a nation under every truce, and contract and reservation paper they signed* because the BIA and FBI will come in and shut down anything benign that happens to break Federal law? Next up you'll both say they were happy when Malaria ridden blankets were given to them under federal orders, Or when children were ripped from parents arms to be thrown into torture camps disguised as schools?

Native Americans can make money off their reservations, many make money off casinos, and some of the well educated or lucky ones are able to move out. While there are many things that can be improved, Native Americans have much more opportunity and wealth compared to Australian aborigines or Canadian or South African natives.'

15% of Australia's population is of a non-European background whist other whites make up 5% of the population and 80% are white Australians these percentages are very similar to the UK, France, Germany and Canada. So overall the Australians have let a similar percentage of foreign peoples immigrate into their country. Developed Nations that are truly xenophobic are China, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan where usually around 98% of the population is native Chinese, Japanese etc and the very small foreign minority are there for business or diplomatic reasons rather than just usual immigrants seeking a better life.

OldSoldier123
I disagree, many Indians, Chinese, Europeans and Americans stay in places such as Japan, South Korea, Hing Kong and other parts of East Asia and are quite welcomed there.

Xenophobia and racism are similar but different. There are some racist Japanese people, but most are just fearful of outsiders in general, regardless of race.

As a person who has lived in Japan for nine months, I have to call BS on this. Japan is the most racist place on earth that I have ever set foot in. People will not sit next to you on a packed train. If you sit next to them, they will get up and stand. You are charged more at bars for drinks. Random people on the street stop you and ask you why you are in Japan and when you are leaving. I heard 'when are you leaving Japan?' more often than I heard 'how are you?' It's how most people in Japan opened conversations with me.

What you describe sounds to me more like nationalism than racism. No country on Earth likes it when foreigners enter their country. It is called nationalism or nativism but it is no really racism. The people of every country on Earth are nationalistic (or nativistic) to some degree.

But racism is worse than just nationalism and nativism. Racism is when you dislike a person just because he looks different from you or because of his skin color. Racism is when you socially discriminate against a person or when you bully a person just because his race or appearance is different from yours.

calling someone racist is racist

Nibroc420
This. By assuming race is some huge thing you must focus on, you're showing the world that someone's race really matters to you. When i see a black guy, I dont yell "OMG A BLACK MAN", he's just another man, walking down the street. There's no sense in pointing out his race. I'd also like to point out they're talking about the Australian aboriginals. Most of which are essentially still living in the bush, and not speaking English. It's like how i dont hate the Aboriginals of Canada, but I cant help but notice the land and money we've given them hasn't been spent very wisely.

Indeed. In my university, when studying Aboriginal writing, my lecturers would discuss racism and Aboriginal issues for almost half the lecture/tutorial, calling others bigoted, racist, etc, etc. I mean honestly, just live and let live, we don't need to discuss it endless and promote ourselves so we can feel 'good' and 'educated'. Just fvcking drop it.

Notice he passed the bucked to me right away and accused me of something when he gets called out on his own racism. My point on you has been proven, which was what that entire post about...YOU and how you act in every thread on this subject. It went no farther than that.

Are you American or Israeli?

studies and personal experience shows that the Japanese place Americans and Israelis much higher than other whites.

so if your British or something, that would explain your treatment.

Islam is not a race, so that survey is not credible because the surveyor (s) does not realize this fact.

Pretty sure at one time the correct spelling was 'moslem'. But in any case, stop splitting hairs- just replace the word racist with prejudiced.

Being an Australian myself, I do find that other Australians can be unnecessary racists. However, I think you must also take in account that we Australians - or at least based off experience anyway - we joke about pretty much everything. This extends to racist and dirty jokes.

15% of Australia's population is of a non-European background whist other whites make up 5% of the population and 80% are white Australians these percentages are very similar to the UK, France, Germany and Canada. So overall the Australians have let a similar percentage of foreign peoples immigrate into their country. Developed Nations that are truly xenophobic are China, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan where usually around 98% of the population is native Chinese, Japanese etc and the very small foreign minority are there for business or diplomatic reasons rather than just usual immigrants seeking a better life.

crazyguy111

I disagree, many Indians, Chinese, Europeans and Americans stay in places such as Japan, South Korea, Hing Kong and other parts of East Asia and are quite welcomed there.

No they don't 98.5% of Japan is ethnic Japanese only about 1% are Americans, Europeans and Chinese and they never get Japanese citizenship and are always there temporarily because of as I said business or political reasons and there are many accounts of Westerns feeling unwelcome when the mingle with the wider Japanese population. The West is about as tolerant as it gets.

[QUOTE="LJS9502_basic"]Because it annoys me that racists try to justify their own racism by acting as though it's common and the default status of humans. I didn't mention myself at all..,..but it's readily apparent to anyone with a brain that you are a racist. Hence your justifications.TheWalkingGhost

  Notice I put no "justifications" in that post at all and was all about him. Notice he passed the bucked to me right away and accused me of something when he gets called out on his own racism. My point on you has been proven, which was what that entire post about...YOU and how you act in every thread on this subject. It went no farther than that.

Just admit you're racist...it's in essence what you said when you claimed "everyone". Stop hiding behind generalizations and man up.

By American Standards we probably are racist. Thing is though I have a few black friends and we just all call each other stupid things. It's not that i'm trying to have a hate crime against him/them it's more the fact that WE DONT CARE AND WE CAN HAVE A JOKE ABOUT IT. I know this seems strange to some others around the world but we Aussie just don't give a shit it's nothing personal.

I call a half black friend 'nlgga' all the time, she says that for her birthday some people are giving her watermelon and fried chicken, we're pretty relaxed about it, but some people do take it too far.

Yeah the language written on that makes me think there is some slight bias ;). Also isn't it ironic that the place that has the "lowest" IQ is the best place to live in the world officially :P

Aren't most countries racist towards their indigenous populations? Why would Oz be any different?

[QUOTE="LJS9502_basic"][QUOTE="Rattlesnake_8"]Who cares? Everyone is racist at some point. You try to be as tolerant as you can be but even if you don't consider yourself racist, everyone has said some racist comment at some point in their life. And today with all the political correctness and people getting upset of anything and everything, even when they are just twisting things around.. you can't say hello to someone without them being able to take offense.WilliamRLBaker
No everyone is not racist....

yes actually they are, its a natural party of the human system to protect you and yours, and you most often identify you and yours with people of your race.

That isn't what being racist is about.
