By American Standards we probably are racist. Thing is though I have a few black friends and we just all call each other stupid things. It's not that i'm trying to have a hate crime against him/them it's more the fact that WE DONT CARE AND WE CAN HAVE A JOKE ABOUT IT. What I meant is that the idea that humanity should be divided into separate, "socially engineered" groups is a immoral idea.

The problem is that humans always like to divide themselves into small separate groups. I think that maybe that is because humans are tribalistic in nature so this may have an evolutionary basis.

I wouldnt say that Australia is more racist than other areas.  It's just that certain types of conflicts exists within Australia as compared to other countries.  Put other countries in those same positions, and they'll likely behave the same way.  That's one thing mankind has consistently demonstrted, unfortunately.  Some countries don't have as much press about "racism" not because their people aren't potentially racist, but more likely because their populations lack the diversity that can lead to such conflict.  I give a country with a relatively homogenous population little credit for "not being racist".
