On-topic: Yea, Avatar was a pretty good show, the fight scenes blew me away, I was not expecting such intense fighting AT ALL from a kids' show(especially the invasion on the northern water tribe, that was crazy)

Yes! It really does have some surprisingly impressive fight scenes. :)
I started watching this show because my kid wanted me to watch the Season Finale of Season 2. I have to say that it's a pretty good show. I'm pretty sure that the creators said that each episode took about 2 months to make, and that just goes to show the production value of a children's show on Nickelodon.
I know a lot people are going to write the show off as a kids show, but it really isn't. It get's pretty dark and intense. The way the last battle ended was pretty ****ty, but you can't expect too much I guess.
It's a good show, and if you say it isn't, then you probably haven't watched it

I love how people automatically assume just because its nickelodeon that it's directed to 10 year olds.Revolver_Ocelot
Yes. Thank you. The guys who created this should not have worked with Nick. They should have branched off and worked with a Japanese-based company. I feel like if the Nickelodeon logo wasn't stamp aaall over Avatar then it would have gotten more fans and less bashers who think its for children.
Meh. Some solid action scenes, but the English dubbing is annoying. Which is odd, considering it's an American show.
And the guy's Clone Wars movie just makes me cringe.
grow up kid...what are you 5 years old? That show is terribleblazinpuertoroc
Ironically, I'm probably older than you ^____^
I liked it........ But was the last "movie" really the end of the series? Or was it just the end of Season 3? I never really figured out which one.Riverspirit
Yes, that was the end. We only have three live action movies based on it to look foward too--as well as some "MMORPG" thingy or whatever that means.
Nevermind, I just found that the series was a trilogy, and will be ended as such. A pity, but M. Night Shyamalan seems to be making movies based off of the series. Interesting......RiverspiritThe Last Airbender. That's the movie he's making. M. Night said he'll not change the main story or characters at all.
[QUOTE="UssjTrunks"]It's a fake anime, and was quite boring IMO. Has nothing on real animes, like Fullmetal Alchemist.MgamerBD
It is not a ****** anime. Fanboy

Go back to Sponge Bob if you don't like a too serious cartoon.serious cartoon? its about a show with a bunch of little kids with the most painful irritating voice over Ive heard soundning like a rugrats episode and has no original story ripping off tons of anime. The show is for little kids, your sixteen? get out the house and chase some girls rather than watching avatar

[QUOTE="hippiegamergirl"]So many people don't like this show, probably because its on Nickelodeon which gives it a just-for-kids reputation. I have to say, I really enjoy this show and I am over the age of 13. I'm sorry if I am disgracing any young adults who won't give it a chance or who legitimately hated it. The creators were at comic con, and they talked about their influences and the work put into the show.
Their main inspiration came from all the Hayao Miyazaki films. Thats a plus! Another anime they mentioned was Cowboy Bebop. Woot! Also, they have a martial artist help the animators work on incorporating real fighting styles into the show. Pretty cool.
I dont think a show like this should be on Nickelodeon. It deserves a better audience than little kids. Its actually good, and because of the network its presented on it has a horrible reputation for being a stupid little kid anime rip off. Its japanese (maybe chinese, i may be wrong) inspired, and honestly I think the story line is really good. Just because the main character is a little kid doesn't mean he can't be bad ass.
Anyhow, thats my opinion.

Hell, I'm 21 and it's one of my favorite shows.
i'm 20 and Avatar was awesome. the fight scenes, the deep storyline, the creative artwork

*looks at sig and avatar*
Actually....I'm just not going to say anything here.
Alright, so people don't like the show. Who cares, they are entitled to their opinions even if they've never actually seen the show. Plus I'm sure I hate some of the stuff they like as well. Like I can honestly say that I think that Naruto is overrated, Inuyasha is retarded, Full Metal sucks, and Dragon Ball Z's English dubbing is worse than The Little Mermaid scene in Kingdom Hearts II.
But I'm not going to call people names and insult them for liking it. (Hmm, this reminds me of a religious thread I posted in recently)
People need to stop treating this like its a huge deal. If people like the show, dont insult them because you think you're awesome for hating it. If people don't like the show, don't tell them they are wrong even if they've never given it a chance. Let them be that way. Its all opinions.
I agree with u but the anime fanatics will get at u don't mind them.MgamerBDYou watch Bleach and agree with him? You shame Grimmjow!
I had began watching this show around exactly when "Toph" was first introduced a long while ago, and I fell deeply in love with it. It's as if the creators set out with an "japanese" anime influenced mindset and recreated the style of that, and the end result was just astounding and alot more enjoyable in certain aspects. It's not just about character design, not just about fight sequences with triple-take action shots and blurred backgrounds and the same twelve frames repeated over and over, and it's definitely not about kanji characters on billboards and all that hot mess.
It's about the storytelling--and what we had here was a continous plot with a beginning, middle, and planned end, taking place in a fully realized world with fully developed characters. Instead of the typical hot mess we use to get here in the U.S., such as straight "good vs evil" scenarios like we get in so many other adventure series here--or even ones with ambiguous one-shot characters thrown in from time to time--we had a full spectrum of characters with very believable motivations in all shades possible.I personally feel the "Avatar" has raised the standard big time for animated entertainment--it's sad how this show has put my recent viewed and most likely last "japanese" animated shows to shame(Naruto and Bleach). I only wish a few other shows like "Ben 10" or "Teen Titans" took note and the end result could be or could have been the same. Just my two cents.

Exactly the same here, surprisingly.
