My Chemical Romance,
BiancaDK
what blasphemy is this! D: They made brilliant songs back in the day.
They are horrible. Their level of musicality is pathetically low, their lyrics are that of a whining 12 year old girl, and the singer sounds just like that same 12 year old girl.
Punk rock or variations of it in general is bad. Same 3 chord riffs over and over with very little variation. No solos, all screaming into mic as loud and as high as humanly possible.
I could go on.
Any band on disney channel (but i like some of the music on disney xd ) and My Chemical Romance, 30 Seconds to Mars, Nickelback.slip knot, green day, BrokenCYDE, black eyed peas,koRn,motley crue,ACDC,guns'n'roses, ppanic at the disco, the beatles i literally hate the beatles D:
Old Skull, which I was introduced to in one of those "worst bands ever" threads. Granted, it doesn't really "exist" anymore.
But anyway,
Shouting is not singing.
Greenday, Brokencyde, Jonas Brothers, any pop teen idol that will be forgotten in 2 years, My Chemical Romance, Bullet for my Valentine, Panic! At the Disco, and so many more.
Even if you don't like the Beatles, you should recognize that the music world wouldn't be the same without them.the beatles i literally hate the beatles D:

I agree, I can't stand the majority of punk music, although I kind of like crust punk. And to add basically most of modern metalcore and deathcore bands are worthless. I pretty much can't stand most radio rock type bands either.

By the criticism you raise, I can only conclude that you've never heard music of pathetically low quality, never read the lyrics written by a whining 12 year old girl, nor heard a 12 year old girl sing. :)[QUOTE="Wasdie"][QUOTE="BiancaDK"]

That's not to say they're not "good" but their music doesn't have much depth and is horribly simple like Wasdie was implying.

I've been in college for 4 years now. I've heard some REALLY bad college bands. My Chemical Romance is a really bad band which happens to have a high singer which then they got picked up by a studio and given a major production boost.
I know what bad lyrics and bad musicality is. They have both.
There are too many tenors. >_>[QUOTE="Wasdie"]which happens to have a high singer
PannicAtack
Tenors? These guys are singing at alto level. Seriously, some of the biggest bands have screamers that hit alto ranges all of the time.
Singing high does not make you good!!

I don't understand how so many can hate the Beatles!
I guess they only ever hear songs like "Yellow Submarine" and their stuff like that.

Are you suggesting "Yellow Submarine" is a bad Beatles song? :o
Fact: All Ringo songs are bad Beatles songs[QUOTE="joesh89"][QUOTE="Wasdie"]

It doesen't have to be exactly musical brilliance in order for it to be enjoyable. He's pretty much saying MCR can only cater to an audience of pre-teen girls, and that's just a gross exaggeration on his part. They've made some excellent songs that I know people who've been around musically speaking can appreciate. Music doesen't have to be complex in order for it to be good, it can be simplistic but still strike deep emotions if you work with what you got, and that's what MCR does. That makes them good artists in my ears, since i've heard artists with overly complex compositions convey absolutely nothing despite the use of a superior repetoire instrumentally and vocally speaking.

I've listened to music since I was in my mothers womb. I've heard some REALLY bad artists. If you wanna' talk about the pathetically bad, you need to look up stuff like brokencyde and blackout band. Clearly they're not in the same league as MCR, so what i'm saying is, is that your criticism is total overkill. You don't need to make it worse than it is even if you don't like it.
I know bad lyrics and bad musicality, and they are neither, so there! :P
The Jonas Brothers, BrokeNCYDE, Deicide, Marduk, My Chemical Romance, Panic At The Disco, U2, Motley Crue, Coldplay, Cradle of Filth, No Doubt, and the list goes on...ArmoredCore55
Panic! At the Disco had a decent album, but the more I listened to it the more I lost intrest.
I actually like the fact that we have some of these extremely hideous bands, due to the fact that they sound so incredibly bad, and they are such a rape to the ears, that they make even the most mediocre bands sound like Mozart. I've actually become attracted to a few bands that I would otherwise have called horrible due to listening to Brokencyde beforehand.
[QUOTE="Sigh_han"]How else will you make your own taste in music look superior if you don't rag down on what's different? :PI'm not appreciating all this MCR hate.

Well you don't even know what kind of music I like, I'm not trying to make my taste in music look superior, I'm just calling it how I see it.
MCR is not that good of a band, why people love them so much I won't know. I personally find their music very lacking in substance and stuff worth listening to. Hell their music doesn't even fit the club and bar scene well like other bands.

Of course, technical proficiency and forced complexity do not make a band automatically good, and that's not really what I said. I just don't consider perfect fifth chords with the most simple chord progressions to be anywhere near brilliant musically. Enjoyable? Not to me, but I acknowledge that people like that, but that doesn't make their songs fascinating or extraordinary musically. Emotional depth is of course entirely up to the listener, but I have to say I'm not really feeling it when listening to music like this. Doesn't make it bad, but in the end all I was saying was it was simple music, and not really that ingenious. Good for you if you like them, and good if you can find some deeper meaning to their music, I just really can't. And I'm really not against simple music. I like listening to some world music or traditional ethnic music for example which is generally pretty simple, but soulfully executed, if that makes sense.

My contribution would be the band called "Extreme" I have a friend who loves them, and I literally cringe every time he puts them on, horrible.
Wasdie
I'm scared to look them up. What kind of music is it?
I'm assuming it's the glam metal band, which have made exactly one good song: "More Than Words". If it's not that, I'm not sure what it is.

Funny, i'm just calling it like i see it aswell. =P And yeah, MCR isn't a godsend to music, and a lot of their newer stuff should never have been recorded let alone put on an album to begin with, and it doesen't always fit the club and bar scene, but then again they never set out to appease the club and bar scene, so you can't judge the quality of their music on those merits. Listening to their music in relation to what they are trying to accomplish with their music, that's where I think you'll notice that what set out to do, they actually do fairly well, that's really all i'm saying. It's from that angle that i'm viewing your criticism, and it is just too brutal you know! :P Just say you hate 'em and their fanbase and get it over with, if that's what it's really all about (I wouldn't know, just throwing it out there).I don't understand how so many can hate the Beatles!

My friend describes them as funk metal.
Extreme (American band): Genres: Funk metal, Hard rock, Glam metal, Folk Rock
Seems like I was right. They're not that bad, and certainly not funk metal at all. I don't hear any funk influence in their music from what I've heard. :?

Well I would point you in the direction of a song called "Get the Funk Out" but I really don't want to burden you with the torture of hearing it.
I agree with you. :) The difference is, i'm just feeling it where you're not. They're not extraordinary, and they are not brilliance, but they do have some excellent songs under their belt when compared to the rest of the scene. You're making perfect sense to me, and technically speaking you are correct when adressing what their music actually consists of. Thankfully art speaks different to different people, and within the range they are trying to tap into, they're doing a mighty fine job at it. =)Of course, technical proficiency and forced complexity do not make a band automatically good, and that's not really what I said.
