Bands you don't get the appeal of?

I don't get the appeal of:

Screamo Music

Metal

Rap

---

I don't understand why people like that stuff... With screamo you just have some idiot who you can't understand literally screaming... With metal you just have the same thing as screamo usually, but also with loud music... And rap... Rap is not music... Rap is just some piece of crap rhyming about either how terrible life is or women (but not women as women, women as sex objects)...

if you can't understand what the screamer is saying,

then they are not a good screamer.

every band i listen to that screams, i can understand perfectly.

and their lyrics are fantastic.

i hate crappy lyrics.

Agree with Paramore... also any metal band. I dont get the grunting and growling whatsoever...I also dont understand how people pass off their lyrics as poetic and deep when its clearly just nonsense...

There is a very large amount of metal with clean vocals, among others, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Dio, Nevermore, Symphony X, Blind Guardian, Iced Earth, Candlemass, Death Angel, Edenbrdige... and many more (i.e. a lot of heavy/symphonic/power/doom/thrash/progressive metal bands)...

I don't get the appeal of:

I love metal but i have to admit death metal is just yelling, i can't understand the lyrics without having to read them first.

I think death metal would be great if it was just instrumental, although not all of it is bad, i like In Flames.

There are several for me recently.

1. LCD Soundsystem

This guy gets nothing but praise and I just dont get why. The music is catchy sure but how is it any better than other electronica?

2. Paramore

The lead singer has a decent voice but they just sound like a generic pop punk band.

3. Oasis

All their songs sound the same for the most part. Standing on the shoulders of giants has a few more interesting tracks but they are nowhere near as good as Blur.

Wow really? You can't see the appeal in these? It's not about liking them I don't know how you can't see the appeal in these. I've heard songs from all that I liked but I don't like them (as a whole) very much but I can see why others do.

I've always like Oasis better than Blur...... Anyway, anything made by the industry to make money....it's generally not very interesting music yet the public laps it up time and again.LJS9502_basic

Well to be fair most music is made to make money:P I love Blur because they actually tried many different sounds, especially in Think Tank, and 13. Also I grew up with them so it is partly a nostalgia thing:)

The first one sounds like hes burping all the lyrics, i listen to a lot of metal and can't understand a word. I always refer to these guys when topics like you can't understand what they are saying pop up, Black Dahlia Murder. They growl both high and low but i can understand 100% of the words to their songs. To answer the thread however, I'd have to say reggae, funk and especially dubstep. I have artists from alot of the other genres out there in my itunes so i can't really say much about a lot of bands. FrostyPhantasm
