Nickelback isn't THAT bad, but they don't compare to SOAD or Metallica. And I don't consider either of those bands to be my favorites.

Considering I am not a fan of either band but an unbiased person I'd say Metallica is miles ahead of SOAD. SOAD is one of the lesser radio bands that have nothing to offer.

Well that's your opinion. In my opinion SOAD is garbage, and they will be never be as influential as Metallica was for modern bands. Oh and I think they play with emotion too.

Did not know it violated the alternative rules of engagement though.:P

"miles ahead of SOAD" in terms of what songwriting and techinal skills yea sure ill give them that but that does not mean everything
i think SOAD is better for the alone fact that in there music there is a sprinkle of eastern european sound to it plzz alot more bounce and groove plus SOAD have alot more humor in there lyrcis i guess thats why i think there better also i think Serji/daron is deff a better singer then james
