Lol, What? So, Someone said Closer than 3 blocks, Someone else said no farther away than 3 blocks, and another person said 100 miles away? Is that what you're saying?

no its the same guy saying it

That's..because the video was edited...I'm fairly certain he wouldn't reply with those kinds of answers to the given question i.e., Three different replies within a short time frame. Even if he did, One is not representative of the many.

[QUOTE="Snipes_2"][QUOTE="Mousetaches"] That's a quote from the video. You should watch it before you argue about it. They make no pretenses of not editing the video or being fair, though, so saying that it's obviously biased is like saying that Kirby is obviously pink.Mousetaches
So, why are we taking this as a fact and an example?

I think the point of this video was to show how little a lot of people know about the issues. There are examples upon examples in real life, you really don't have to go far to find ignorant people.

The video was clearly and unabashedly edited. I don't take this as anything other than leftist media propaganda.

Search out the LCDs who scream ignorance and use those images to provide a false impression of the majority. Not that I didn't wince, shift in my seat, and shake my head throughout the video, but this stuff is really getting old. Some of the extremist rhetoric aside, a tiny bit of the sentiment wasn't entirely unreasonable. People questioning the direction of the country isn't an outrage to me. With that, the people denying Beck's statement about Obama being a racist did get a chuckle out of me. Overall, these LCDs sounded every bit as extreme as the extremism they complained about.

I swear, this guy was going out of his way to find the most overweight, ignorant people. I'm impressed that he was able to maintain a straight face throughout his interviews. I'm not sure I could have.

EDIT: The amusement turned to resentment around 11:00. I wasn't laughing anymore at that point.

W....T......F @ 12:20:o "I only know what my sister tells me....." (shudders)

I still don't get why people are giving Beck grief over the date and place. The man is an entertainer, what did people expect? This is what entertainers do. I'll have to watch some more of Chase's videos.

What's not to believe about it? It's common knowledge that Beck and his flock are as bright as a block of wood.

It's not like the editing was down all out of order to mislead folks, it's done in chunks and you see these people spewing there ignorance about several topics.

It was definitely done to mislead people...I would like to see each question asked and the WHOLE answer the interviewee gave. Not just portions of their answer or what they said.

Notice how only liberals threaten to leave the country. Michelle Obama: "For the first time in my adult lifetime, I am really proud of my country". You libs got your man Barack in the White House. How about you follow Michelle's lead and try to be proud of the country and what we've accomplished instead of being angry and bitter all the time.

Um....wat? I've seen numerous conservatives (Limbaugh was one) who threatened to leave if healthcare passed.

And there was that case of a few republican senators threatening to leave and take their state with them.

I know that i've made a post in this thread like this before but...i really really hope that you don't actually believe that.

I can't vouch for the intelligence level of every person who attended the event, but what I can say is that every movement, whether it be Political, Relgious, Social, or other, will have people ofa lower intelligence or people who are ignorant, its practically a given. But to stereotype an entire (and rather large) group of people like that, is absurd and shows a great deal of ignorance on your part.

I find the part of it being "common knowledge" to be particularly offensive.

Yeah, it's not like tons of Republicans in Texas, South Carolina, and other southern states threatened succession again when Obama was elected. It is completely one sided.

This is why I never get involved in politics. Every person with a strong "oppinion" thinks they are more intelligent than everyone else. If they actually looked at the things they said and looked at where they got their ideas, they would see that they are just as ignorant as the people they are arguing with ;)

Those people are hilarious, but looking at the source you can tell it's probably edited. So sick of this Conservative vs Liberal stuff though, not every viewpoint needs labeling. They're just buzzwords for news to get viewers imo.

Alright, I'm going to bite. The issue with this argument is that at the time the "democrats" were southerners who were concerned about state's rights. However, now a days the republicans are those who are all about state's rights and dominate the south. Thus the democrats of the past are different than the democrats of the present. However, technically you are correct, democrats were the ones to succeed in the Civil War.

To add to that, after the civil war, the south distrusted the republican party, which led to the creation of the "solid south." This remained until democrats began to care for civil liberties in the 1960's and the republican party used this, which they called the "southern strategy", to successful end the democratic domination of the south.

"The neutrality of this article is disputed." I'm not surprised.

What does that have to do with this?

I'd like to think I'm still right, though.

The funny thing is, these people don't even know what socialism is, they just "know it's bad" because that's what Glenn Beck tells them to believe. Socialism is awesome, has been a huge success in the rest of the world, and all but the wealthiest people would be better off under a socialist system. And socialism is much more compatible with democracy than the corporate controlled oligarchy by and for the elite super rich that we're living under now.

And Obama isn't even Socialist in the first place, so bringing it up is stupid.

FleeceJohnson

I'm going to start my post by stating that I am not a tea partier nor a Glenn Beck fan, and completely recognize that the people in the video displayed astonishing amounts of ignorance. Of course Obama is a not a socialist, but socialism itself has not been successful by any means. If you are referring to parts of Europe, (which I doubt that you are, but just in case) no, they are not socialist. Virtually every nation in Europe has an economy which is more privately owned and operated operated (capitalist) than publicly. Mixed economies. Socialist nations have had a tendency to worsen the lives of most people in the rare cases that they have existed. Incentive structures are less adequate, and market pricing is gone. (causing shortages and surpluses) And socialism isn't inherently more compatible with democracy than a more free-market oriented system.

I don't think I saw a single black person there.

Ultimas_Blade

There were a couple tokens there, but paid in full up front I suppose.

Eh, possible. But I doubt it. Seems a bit presumptuous.
