I wouldnt say it would be healthier since meat is also has its nutritional value. The only benefit would most likely be that vegetarian girls would like you more. Unless youre a girl then theres no benefits=p

You aren't bringing up the demand for animal slaughter. (by demand I mean from a marketing perspective)

There is a lot less stuck to the inside of your intestines. Meat clogs up your entire system which effects your pores and skin and headaches and bad digestion. Also you're helping to stop factory farms which are the cause of over 18% of the entire earths pollution. I've been vegetarian for 8 years and I have 2x more energy than my meat eater friends. I ride a bicycle 60 miles a day and my friends can't ride 5 without getting fatigued. My vegetarian friends also have said the same thing. More energy.

I would contest that you already have a stronger will for your own well being than your friends which provides you the energy to exercise more than them. Unless you are just disgusted with meat, it takes determination to remain a vegetarian.[QUOTE="Xeros606"][QUOTE="8-Bitterness"]well, benefits are that you get to be healthier if you know how to combine the vegetables n stuff, i would never give up meat tho D: and pasta is pretty awesome if youre a vegetarian

I'd suggest try giving up all factory processed foods. Ever since I stopped eating fast food and only eat foods with base ingredients that I cook myself, I feel way better.

I use to be a vegetarian during parts of my teen years, specifically 15-17, I still ate some fast food (I knew which chains cooked their fries in animal fat and which didn't).

Now that I eat meat though, I don't cut out a lot of the same unhealthy things I ate then, like fries and I ordered bun sandwhiches thmen lol, so it all just piles on the calories with the eats, and it's obvious I ate much better as a vegetarian, and I may go back to it some day.

If you do decide to be a vegetarian there is a very good chance your friends will annoy and harass you about your personal decision. I had a childhood friends drunk dad's friend lecture me about my choice on not eating meat back then. He said "you get no protien, it make's you weak" and I said "Well, I take vitamins" and of course he say's "That is a supplement, it's not like the real thing" And my advice would be to role your eyes at that, since meat has it's bad sides too like high in fat (except turkey, fish and some chicken) and hangs out in your colon for awhile.

Basically I only eat meat because it's cheap, which is selfish on my part.

Aha! Another reason to dislike vegans!

Why would you want to dislike us at all?

And my b-12 levels are fine, btw. Just have to pay attention to what I eat. A vegan can have a bad diet just like a meat eater.

...wait what?

Being a vegetarian doesn't necessarily mean altering your body, and being thin doesn't mean being healthy. Also, I'd love to see some statistics on omnivores vs. herbivores life span, seriously what does that have to do with anything? Your physical condition is a combination of a lot of things such as sleep, stress, drug use etc, and though your diet has a big part in how healthy you are it is certainly not the biggest one.

I won't eat my kitty because there's not a lot of meat on him, but he'd do in a pinch. Hell, I'd eat human meat if the need for food got pinchy enough.

But as long as I can chose, I rarely even touch meat or poultry. I like fish and sea food but I barely ever eat it because it doesn't come as naturally for me to cook as veggie meals do, and since I cook all my food myself, well.. =)

Unlike lions, humans have intelligence-you think about something, work on it and come to conclusions. So you future won't be so generic - it'll be based on the outcome of your choices. Like for example, if you choose to eat pizzas daily you'll eventually join the fat people club of your country who love whining all the time.

Don't get me wrong, am not implying anything. Feel free to eat whatever you prefer, just don't put it under the framework or right and wrong or anyother means of self-justification.

uhh... yeah it is. diet is the single biggest factor of your health... you are what you eat. followed by excersize and then the amount of sleep you get. and then other minor factors like drugs and stuff

Well the only real benefit is that you arent eating dead animals. If you aren't careful you can become unhealthy. I dont understand the idea of being vegetarian. People were obviously made to eat animals...... so eat animals.

I would never become a vegetarian because you can eat lean meats and occasionaly a little bit of the fatty ones and still be completely healthy. But if you are going to be a vegetarian then just make sure you are getting some good sources of protein. Dairy and peanuts and such.
