radiohead and explosions in the sky.
Excellent bands.

I think I prefer the remix... And one of the only problems I have with The Dear Hunter though is some of their lyrical work could use some improvement... Like on Red Hands: "You can't be caught red handed if you aren't red handed." One of the only problems I have with them which is keeping them from my top 5...slorg_kingagreed. i like black sandy beaches all the way up to the chorus at the end, then it just kinda falls apart. totally ruins the mood of the song.

Tool is my favorite thats still releasing good albums! I mean I love Metallica and Megadeth as well, but they are just not releasing the quality they had in the late 80's and 90's.ice_radon
I agree, but "United Abominations" was atleast 10x better than "St. Anger". I also think Scar Symmetry, Radiohead, and Muse are excellent.
Because I can't pick just one or two, and because this is basically opinion based, here's some of my favourite bands:
HIM
Machine Head
Coheed & Cambria
CKY
69 Eyes
Nightwish (the new Nightwish CD is awesome)
Trivium
DevilDriver
Children of Bodom
In Flames
Dimmu Borgir
Clutch
Lamb Of God
Negative
Cradle of Filth
The Sounds
36 Crazyfists
Within Temptation
Thrice (although the older Thrice is better, the first disc of the Alchemy Index was great)
Rise Against
Killswitch Engage
Divine Heresy
Dope Stars Inc.
I know it's a (really) big list, but I couldn't bring myself to leave any of them off (plus, I don't know why the spacing between lines is so big either). I know that there are plenty of bands that I haven't heard yet, and there a few I want to check out as well (I've heard really good things about Down, Type O Negative, and Turisas)
