Best Guitarist??

Lots of people say its Jimmy Page , i think Kirk Hammet is much ! much ! much ! much better than Jimmy Page . I hate it , why did they choose Led Zeppelin the best band ever ? I think Metallica rules them all , and AC/DC , these 2 bands , i think the greatest bands ever , well whatever , whats your favorite guitarist??

I like and admire the rock-based guitarists as much as any rock and metal fan, but after hearing classical, jazz and flamenco guitarists there's no question who are better.

But for the sake of argument best rock/metal to me

I don't think there'd even be rock for metal to spring out of if not for Chet Atkins, Robert Johnson and other blues, jazz and country guitarists.

Alexi Laiho is amazing. He`s fast and precise as hell. So he`s my first choice. Wes Borland is pretty sick too, his style for writing riffs is something different and refreshing.mike_me

Dave Mustaine, Nels Cline (especially live), and David Gilmour. It takes more than speed to be a great guitarist; Gilmour pours more emotion into single notes than a lot of metal guitarists put into a whole song.
