Cant choose. So many of em. but Vinnie Paz from Jedi Mind Tricks is easily my favorite. I also love Aesop cuz his lyrics get you thinking.

[QUOTE="NrGcHaRgE021"][QUOTE="Film-Guy"]I would say AESOP ROCK. he is an intelligent rapper who knows great lyrics. I dont know 1 person alive today who raps better than him.SunJian18

Boston University rep'n baby!!!!!!!!!!! I love Aesop. Talib Kweli, Common and Immortal Technique are my top three with Murs comin next.

They're all dopeness. Talib Kweli, bangin on ya eardrum.

Blackstar, the album Talib and Mos Def put out, ranks among my favorite albums. It's easily top three, constantly, and sometimes I change up on my favorite albums.

I'm not too much of an Aesop Rock fan though, he raps weird, I can't put my finger on it but there's something about his flow I don't like. But from Definitive Jux, I like Murs and Mr. Lif. Lif is ****in DOPE, have you ever heard I Phantom?

I actually love Aesop's flow. The fact that he went to my school makes me like him even more. Never heard I Phantom. Just started listening to Gym Class Heroes. Theyre pretty good.

I've heard Phonte's been falling off lately, but I wouldn't know, the last thing I've heard from him was the Seperate But Equal mixtape.  I read he had a new one, but I didn't cop it because of the huge lack of 9th wonder.  Is it any good?

Rap is probably one of the greatest art form, but few artists utilizes it that way.
one of my favorites

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_-_IFAt8ka0

"It Ain't Hard To Tell"

It ain't hard to tell, I excel, then prevail
The mic is contacted, I attract clientele
My mic check is life or death, breathin a sniper's breath
I exhale the yellow smoke of buddha through righteous steps
Deep like The Shinin', sparkle like a diamond
Sneak a uzi on the island in my army jacket linin
Hit the Earth like a comet, invasion
Nas is like the Afrocentric Asian, half-man, half-amazin
Cause in my physical, I can express through song
Delete stress like Motrin, then extend strong
I drank Moet with Medusa, give her shotguns in hell
From the spliff that I lift and inhale, it ain't hard to tell

The buddha monk's in your trunk, turn the bass up
Not stories by Aesop, place your loot up, parties I shoot up
Nas, I analyze, drop a jew-el, inhale from the L
School a fool well, you feel it like braille
It ain't hard to tell, I kick a skill like Shaquille holds a pill
Vocabulary spills I'm +Ill+
plus +Matic+, I freak beats slam it like Iron Shiek
Jam like a tech with correct techniques
So analyze me, surprise me, but can't magmatize me
Scannin while you're plannin ways to sabotage me
I leave em froze like her-on in your nose
Nas'll rock well, it ain't hard to tell

This rhythmatic explosion, is what your frame of mind has chosen
I'll leave your brain stimulated, **** is frozen
Speak with criminal slang, begin like a violin
End like Leviathan, it's deep well let me try again
Wisdom be leakin out my grapefruit troop
I dominate break loops, givin mics men-e-straul cycles
Street's disciple, I rock beats that's mega trifle
And groovy but smoother than moves by Villanova
You're still a soldier, I'm like Sly Stone in Cobra
Packin like a rasta in the weed spot
Vocals'll squeeze glocks, MC's eavesdrop
Though they need not to sneak
My poetry's deep, I never fell
Nas's raps should be locked in a cell
It ain't hard to tell

aesop rock, del, murs, busdriver, haiku d'etat, etc are better rappers than any any mainstream rap artist.  And to all of you who think rap is not music listen to haiku d'etat most if not all their songs were recorded with live instrumentals, sounds awesome!

Yeah.  I understand though, when I first heard him I was like "dude's voice is whack", but eventually the monotone grew on me, because what he says is niceness.

I'll give him more than a second chance then. He's very smart. Went to Colgate, but dropped out because he got into hip hop. Grew up in Brighton, right near BU :)

Here's some videos I found on YouTube

Return of the B-Boy (from I Phantom)
http://youtube.com/watch?v=YIuIL4pQIGk

Live From The Plantation (from I Phantom, awesome track with social commentary)
http://youtube.com/watch?v=VLhBcdFiIDA

Because They Made It That Way
http://youtube.com/watch?v=q4RZH75mB2w

Brothaz (from his newest album, Mo'Mega)
http://youtube.com/watch?v=pzuJwuqKdpc

Did you ever hear his Perceptionists album with Akrobatik? That was pretty dope too.

Lif is real cool with these dudes called the Alias Brothers from where I'm from. Lif had a guest spot on their last album called "Supa Dynamite" and they all tour together, and Therapy of the Alias Brothers works the wheels of steel for Lif most of the time at his shows.

Yeah... and your story about Mandarin is weak dude.

Akrobatik is from Boston as well, and Therapy of the Alias Brothers is from Boston but resides in Jacksonville now too with the rest of the Alias Bros. Since you love your Boston music.
