Best revenge movies?

IGN made a top 10 list. I have only seen a couple of these films.

Their top 10 revenge list pretty much match other sites' own top lists of revenge films. They all seem to pick the most well-known ones even though there are probably others better or some which fully follow the definition of what a revenge film really is.

Eastern Promises was also very good. Some would say better than History.

I've seen a few people mention Oldboy, but has anybody seen Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance? Same director, great movie!

Count me as one of those, but can you really consider EP a revenge flick?

Anyways, I'd say in addition to some fo the others that ahev been said, Lucky Number S7evin, V for Vendetta, Sin City (parts, at least), Unforgiven,Godfather I think can fit in here, Departed, Taxi Driver. Some of them might not technically be revenge, but they seem close enough. I guess if you can consider Taxi Driver a revenge flick you could also consider Eastern Promises one.

oldboy is my favorite revenge movie. if we are being loose in the grouping of revenge movies, then gangs of new york, straw dogs, and a clockwork orange are all great films.

Count of Monte Cristo, I mean that is the defenition of revenge and Mad Max one of my favorites of all time

I didn't need to mention it since I already mentioned the original from which Payback was a remake of: Point Blank with Lee Marvin.

Ah man I forgot to mention Harakiri. I'm pretty sure that falls under the revenge genre.

Oldboy is easily the best revenge movie of all time. Such a great movie!!!! One of my top 5 favs I do believe.

i think The Brave One with jodie foster takes the cake. amazing film

Only 2 people have mentioned Lucky Number Slevin?!? That's disappointing...

Anyway I guess I need to watch Old boy now because of how many people have listed it.
