Well I thought I was being too harsh with my initial comments saying that these people are pedophiles or real sex doll owners. I felt bad that maybe I judged too soon and went to YouTube to see for myself. After flipping through for about 1 minute I realized I wasn't being harsh enough. I erased what I really think about this "fanbase" and how truly distrubing it is and will instead drop out of this thread never to returnHuffanddobackAgain, it's only a scarce number of the people who are creepy mofus.

In the end I leave people be as long as they leave me be. So a brony in OT doesn't annoy me in general.
I meant to hit the obliterate button, they drove GabuEx off OT, that's all I need to say.

Didn't he go to a Bronies forum?
AFFECT/EFFECT
There are five distinct words here. When "affect" is accented on the final syllable (a-FECT), it is usually a verb meaning "have an influence on": "The million-dollar donation from the industrialist did not affect my vote against the Clean Air Act."
Occasionally a pretentious person is said to affect an artificial air of sophistication. Speaking with a borrowed French accent or ostentatiously wearing a large diamond ear stud might be an affectation. In this sort of context, "affect" means "to make a display of or deliberately cultivate."
Another unusual meaning is indicated when the word is accented on the first syllable (AFF-ect), meaning "emotion." In this case the word is used mostly by psychiatrists and social scientists—people who normally know how to spell it.
The real problem arises when people confuse the first spelling with the second: "effect." This too can be two different words. The more common one is a noun: "When I left the stove on, the effect was that the house filled with smoke." When you affect a situation, you have an effect on it.
Less common is a verb meaning "to create": "I'm trying to effect a change in the way we purchase widgets." No wonder people are confused. Note especially that the proper expression is not "take affect" but "take effect"—become effective. Hey, nobody ever said English was logical: just memorize it and get on with your life.
The stuff in your purse? Your personal effects.
The stuff in movies? Sound effects and special effects.
"Affective" is a technical term having to do with emotions; the vast majority of the time the spelling you want is "effective."

Indeed. It's not like anyone is forcing you to go onto ponibooru and look at the rule34 content or even the questionable content..[QUOTE="Tylendal"] What I find amusing is how much of the creepy stuff haters tend to complain about. I know that I for one, rarely see anything particularly disturbing. If, someone like me, who's inundated in the fandom can avoid tasteless or deviant content with no effort, why is it so hard for the people who hate the show?Deihjan
My point exactly. Love the sig by the wayRisethNamelessYeah, the fandom has a lot of rotten eggs but at the same time we have amazingly diverse and interesting people.. For example, Crookedtrees. A man I'd never have heard of until MLP. Sure, he draws porn, but he also draws amazing emulations of artists he admire, but with ponies in instead of people.
One thing is having fetishes, but another is forcing them onto people.
There's so much disgusting stuff on the internet already, but I don't see anyone complaining about Adventure Time rule 34 or the people who corrupted pokémon. I grew up with pokémon, and some of the first rule 34 I ever saw was of that. While I searched for it on purpose, I still saw it. If haters could stop seeking it out, and stop hating -all- of us who call ourselves for bronies..the world would be much better. Haters shouldn't visit Equestria Daily, either. They're a generally bad example of what sane fans discus.
Oh, and try clicking the Rarity gif :P
Exactly.
I see people complaining about bronies "f*cking with sh*t they shouldn't f*ck with."
This is nothing new, folks.
In fact, I think the Adventure Time version is better and you can tell a lot more time was put into it.
I really don't see what the issue is.
I like the show, but like you I'm not extreme about it. However, I'm at a point where I don't find it annoying either. I don't see how the fanbase is annoying, even though I'm not anywhere near the point many of them are.
I mean, most forums I visit the most you have regarding it is a topic for the show and a few members with pony-related icons. Not a big deal at all, there are many other things that commonly have topics and a few members with avatars related to them as well. People are blowing this so out of proportion.

No clue. Know I didn't say it. Never even watched the show. Not planning on doing so either.....too many brony threads...either for or against.Fans of every creed are the worse. Bronies, OFWGKTA's fans, Queen fans, metalheads, Dubstep fans, weaboo's, whatevz trevz they are the worst.freek666Visibly, I honestly enjoy fans of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms. I think the fandom lacks the necessary components to spur nuisance against people and actually require a decent level of intellect to stomach. Otherwise, Vocaloid fans can **** the **** off. Whenever I see an interesting song by that program, I always expect the top comments to be something about orgasming or vehement desires about the raping of a young child followed by the following emoticons: =w=, x/XD, :3, *3*, >//> or anything in between.
My Little Pony for dudes = most retarded thing ever. No wonder women think guys are becoming more effeminate.
If the show was exactly the same, but the My Little Pony franchise had never existed, there wouldn't be so many haters, it's ridiculous. My Little Pony for dudes = most retarded thing ever. No wonder women think guys are becoming more effeminate.

Just gotta say that It's amazing how many people didn't read my OP and show it in their posts. Assuming I'm a Pony hater or something
Silly, silly people
I did. As I said earlier in this thread, I disagree with you completely. The fact that there is a pony version of almost everything is, in my opinion, one of the coolest parts about the fandom.Just gotta say that It's amazing how many people didn't read my OP and show it in their posts. You all asked for it.DeihjanWell, I've been MIA for three months, so I don't know what others from the union have made, but I just know that those I'm close with from FIMU wouldn't force ponies down anyones throat. We've tried talking reasonably with the haters whenever someone was dumb enough to start yet another MLP thread in OT, we said that if there were anyone who wanted to discus the show they were free to come join us and not bothering OT with candy-coloured ponies. Please, do you have a link to that thread? http://www.gamespot.com/forums/topic/28842358/my-little-pony--friendship-is-magic-discussion-thread It was pretty tame but it was spammage of the pictures for the first few pages. People say they don't get it, they don't like it, etc, and a reply with a damn meme picture in response. As you yourself said you have a union on like the first few replies but I think the meme picture spammage was what really pissed off most. So since the rules got changed people instead started MLP hate threads. Actually to be honest I do not remember any threads started in support of the meme to not just spam meme pictures as... replies.
[QUOTE="WiiCubeM1"]
[QUOTE="TheShadowLord07"]that can be say for things like for anything popular..and I see enough who takes star wars and star trek a little too far. that doesnt stop me from watching though
Deihjan
Yeah, but there is a bit of a difference between a young girls cartoon and two of the most deeply beloved movie and tv franchises of all time. Just to me, it would be worlds more embarrasing to where an MLP shirt in public than a Chewbacca shirt.
I would say it doesn't f*cking matter if you choose to wear a t-shirt with a pony on or a t-shirt with Chewbacca on, as long as YOU like it. F*ck other peoples opinions, just keep on rocking. I wear nerdy shirts, like the one I'm currently wearing..from Blizzcon, with diablo 3.There are ponies on it. F*ck if I care what people think about it. I like it. Stop giving a sh*t about what's embarrassing, embrace what YOU LOVE and stop trying to please everyone, because you can't.
I don't watch the show, and I'll never wear a Pony shirt, but this shirt is eerily awesome...
The show doesn't catch my attention and it won't ever and the memes of it are not funny.
No, no, no. You have to go on about how fans of the show are the scourge of humanity, and how the show should have absolutely no appeal to anyone.. Damn right. They have made the internet more interesting.
Now that I think about it, I need to catch up on my MLP episodes. >.>
