Uh...heck no. Digital audio easily. I simply wouldn't be able to carry or store all the CDs. Nor are they nearly convenient in any way. They offer pretty much no advantage aside from having the case.
EDIT: By the way, CDs are digtal music.

If you have iPod connectivity for your sound system (like me) CD quality still wins simply because of Bit rate.

I just picked up a 500GB Hard Drive off Newegg for $50. I have all my music stored in FLAC, MP3-320, and WAV. That way I can use it on my computers, on my PS3, and in my car.
Having so many CD's suck, but losing digital stuff sucks even worse.ice_radonI actually like having heaps of CD's. Looks impressive
I prefer CD's. If I don't own a physical copy of the album, it's just as good as not owning it.....and it's cool having filled up my cabinet with CD's anyway :P But another thing with CD's is that you can obviously turn them into mp3 files.......so you have a high quality physical copy of the album, as well as an mp3 file for all occasions......it's a double win.
My thoughts exactly :)I prefer CD's. Hell yea! Awesome lossless quality, that's why I have all my Taylor Swift album on CD. :P
I prefer CDs...
a. better quality than the MP3s most digital stores offer.
b. a tangible product, with a case, artwork, lyrics, and liner notes.
I only have one complete album which I got digitally. And that's only because I got a voucher with my phone.
umm lets see
You can both downloaded songs on both so that's out of the quest
1: you got to carry multiple disc around unless you just want to listen to the same songs.
2: cd players bigger
3: digital music is more clear
4: you can damage the cd and the player vs you can only damage the player
Yet with digital music you can just as easily lose it due to hardware failure....whereas with a CD....you just recopy the disc if necessary.umm lets see

CD's are digital.
if you mean which distrabution method do i prefer shops vs DD then i like both. i like choice. but for the most part i still buy CD's just out of habit really, i usually just rip them straight to iTunes and then never touch the CD again.
yeah. i used to sell high end hifi in the UK about 10 years ago and dealt with a lot of proper audiophiles. we used to use Pink Floyds dark side of the moon as a demo piece of music to show the difference between CD and Vinyl. was pretty noticeable. but these days all music is digitally produced anyway so it is better suited to a CD. i do like the look of a Record though, even though i have no intention of playing it i just bought the Beady Eye LP to put on my wall and bought the CD to listen too.Vinegar_StrokesThat is a very good point. The difference is less noticeable (if at all) on new albums. I am not too pressed to own the vinyl for albums produced after the 90's. I think the best sounding records came from the 70's and 80's. If you like a band from any of those eras (Zeppelin, Floyd, etc), you really haven't heard them until you've heard their vinyl records on a good system.

On a side note I think that download able music is killing music. Artists aren't making albums any more their making singles. For example Justin Bieber, I'm sure many of us here don't like him, but let's just say for a minute that his oh baby or whatever it's called is good. So we go online and buy that one song, because thats the one song we heard on the radio over and over again, and thus totally neglecting the rest of the songs. This gives ol' Justin incentive to make more songs like that one knowing that it'll be the only one that sells, and all the rest can be crap. Justin Bieber is just lame none of his songs are good, but the reason I use him like this is because the vast majority of the teenyboppers out there going on itunes and buying that one song, there is no reason this won't flood over into what good music is left.
band have never made much money from CD sales. band get rich from concerts and merchandise. On a side note I think that download able music is killing music. That's true, I'm not saying how much money they make, I'm just saying quality in general. See back in the day you'd buy albums, now you buy single.
I think you are underestimating the singles market "back in the day". 45's were huge (not in size, lol). It wasn't until the 90's that the record companies stopped releasing virtually every popular song on single. That's true, I'm not saying how much money they make, I'm just saying quality in general. very true, although there are some exceptions still, but mostly the vinyl's tend to come from the awful over compressed/dynamically lacking masters of modern CD's. I wish modern bands would look at the likes of Kate Bush's Aerial album from 2005 to see how an album should sound today.
Digital can sound good too, look at dire straits - brothers in arms album, still to the is day it is an absolutely masterpiece of sound, and the vinyl blows away the fantastic original CD release despite being recorded digitally because the mastering is different.
[QUOTE="jamiedoodles5"]digital simply due to the audio quality.DmadFearmongerWRONG! wait, are you just arguing with anybody who disagrees with you?
[QUOTE="DmadFearmonger"][QUOTE="jamiedoodles5"]digital simply due to the audio quality.Serraph105WRONG! wait, are you just arguing with anybody who disagrees with you?he is wrong though. a CD and downloaded music would sound exactly the same if the digital download was not compressed. no was a DD would sound better than a CD

[QUOTE="DmadFearmonger"][QUOTE="jamiedoodles5"]digital simply due to the audio quality.Serraph105WRONG! wait, are you just arguing with anybody who disagrees with you?No, I'm telling him digital music doesn't have the same high quality of CD.
I like CDs but high quality file fomats are superior. Massive amounts of music can be stored on one device, and 320k MP3s are essentially CD quality( and you'd be hard pressed to find a single person who can prove this false).
No, I'm telling him digital music doesn't have the same high quality of CD.DmadFearmongerI don't really understand your argument though. CDs are already digital. It's just on a permanent storage medium. And, just last week I downloaded the lossless WAV of the latest Radiohead album - the quality of which is equal to the CD that will be released. Maybe on your poll you should have an analog option. CDs and digital is really the same thing - it's the actual compression format that is the difference.
[QUOTE="Serraph105"][QUOTE="DmadFearmonger"]WRONG!DmadFearmongerwait, are you just arguing with anybody who disagrees with you?No, I'm telling him digital music doesn't have the same high quality of CD. Yes they do. HIgh quality MP3( 320k) sounds just as good as a lossless CD
