If you have a good sound system (like me) CD's offer astounding sound quality. If you have iPod connectivity for your sound system (like me) CD quality still wins simply because of Bit rate.

I just picked up a 500GB Hard Drive off Newegg for $50. I have all my music stored in FLAC, MP3-320, and WAV. That way I can use it on my computers, on my PS3, and in my car.

If I don't own a physical copy of the album, it's just as good as not owning it.....and it's cool having filled up my cabinet with CD's anyway :P But another thing with CD's is that you can obviously turn them into mp3 files.......so you have a high quality physical copy of the album, as well as an mp3 file for all occasions......it's a double win.

if you mean which distrabution method do i prefer shops vs DD then i like both. i like choice. but for the most part i still buy CD's just out of habit really, i usually just rip them straight to iTunes and then never touch the CD again.
As was stated above, CDs are digital. If you mean digital vs. analog, that is an actual debate. I do buy vinyl a lot of the time when it is available. If you have a good setup, the sound is amazing.

That is a very good point. The difference is less noticeable (if at all) on new albums. I am not too pressed to own the vinyl for albums produced after the 90's. I think the best sounding records came from the 70's and 80's. If you like a band from any of those eras (Zeppelin, Floyd, etc), you really haven't heard them until you've heard their vinyl records on a good system.

For example Justin Bieber, I'm sure many of us here don't like him, but let's just say for a minute that his oh baby or whatever it's called is good. So we go online and buy that one song, because thats the one song we heard on the radio over and over again, and thus totally neglecting the rest of the songs. This gives ol' Justin incentive to make more songs like that one knowing that it'll be the only one that sells, and all the rest can be crap. Justin Bieber is just lame none of his songs are good, but the reason I use him like this is because the vast majority of the teenyboppers out there going on itunes and buying that one song, there is no reason this won't flood over into what good music is left.

I think you are underestimating the singles market "back in the day". 45's were huge (not in size, lol). It wasn't until the 90's that the record companies stopped releasing virtually every popular song on single.
CD's that way you get a physical format with a booklet and can convert it to what ever format you wish. no being tied to aac or mp3, you can choose flac, ape, wav whatever you want. the way i see it i can buy a cd from the 80's and can buy vinyl from the 50's. will i be able to buy an aac track from apple in 50-60 years? will apple even be around in 50-60 years?

very true, although there are some exceptions still, but mostly the vinyl's tend to come from the awful over compressed/dynamically lacking masters of modern CD's. I wish modern bands would look at the likes of Kate Bush's Aerial album from 2005 to see how an album should sound today.
Digital can sound good too, look at dire straits - brothers in arms album, still to the is day it is an absolutely masterpiece of sound, and the vinyl blows away the fantastic original CD release despite being recorded digitally because the mastering is different.

I like CDs but high quality file fomats are superior. Massive amounts of music can be stored on one device, and 320k MP3s are essentially CD quality( and you'd be hard pressed to find a single person who can prove this false).

I don't really understand your argument though. CDs are already digital. It's just on a permanent storage medium. And, just last week I downloaded the lossless WAV of the latest Radiohead album - the quality of which is equal to the CD that will be released. Maybe on your poll you should have an analog option. CDs and digital is really the same thing - it's the actual compression format that is the difference.
