[QUOTE="Josh_345"][QUOTE="jerico6"][QUOTE="Josh_345"]What makes me an extremist?jerico6
let's see... where do I start... 1. Thinking everyone who isn't a christian is going to hell 2. Thinking playing video games is a sin 3. Saying that the end is near 4. thinking Metal Music will end society That pretty much sums it up.

Why would non Christians go to heaven? Also im not saying metal alone would end society, i`m just saying it could be a bigger threat then you would think.

You have no right to claim that non christians are not going to heaven. You have absolutely NO control over that. I do not believe that non christians are going to hell. that is Not up to me to decide. That is up to God! Not me! Not you! GOD!! Also, your logic about metal contributing to the downfall to society is pathetic. That same attitude was applied to Elvis, The Beatles, etc. A lot of people think Rage Against the Machine will contribute to the downfall of society. That is pure BS.

I dont think non-christians go to hell. Or non muslims or etc. etc.

All the other religions are accepting god into their hearts as well. I think as long as men have good intent to try and understand god and are still being good men/women, that he will accept them into the kingdom of heaven. I think one of the major things about the new testement was that we reached a point where god isnt as strict on us anymore.

Read the bible. I cant believe you think people who reject God are going to heaven. Oh well, this is another reason why I think the end is near.

My church disagree's. Actually, every church i've been to disagree's. Go to your denominations church and ask a priest/pastor for clarification, you will find that a non-christian can still find his way through the gates of heaven.

Because god is not the evil overlord you make him out to be. That is why he sent jesus christ, instead of destroying the earth and banishing us all to hell.

Where athiests go is debatable, but i believe any religion which accepts god and is with good intent, will be allowed into heaven. I highly doubt that the chosen ones, the jews, will go to hell. Keepers of the holy city, guided by god since the earliest of times.

While my views on end times are slightly different then those of Christianity, I still feel that it is not a good idea to try to pinpoint when it will happen. Of course, the end times are closer then they were yesterday, but who is to say when they will occur? When it happens, we will know. There is little need to proclaim that doom is near, especially when we do not know ourselves. On a side note. I think the most interesting thing about the end times in both Christianity and Islam, is the recognition of the second coming of Christ. The reason I find it interesting is because it would more or less collapse one of the religions into the other. In other words, we will find out which of the two doctrines was correct.

I think getting into Heaven has nothing to do with going to Church or being Christian. I think we all go to heaven if we live a good life and be nice to each other.

So lets just say there was this guy who never got baptized, he read the Bible occasionaly and was a good man. If he died at the age of 80, would he go to heaven? Of course he would. God would be pretty cruel to only send people to Heaven that read the Bible and go to Church each week.

That would be interesting. And i doubt there will be an uproar from the religion that is wrong, because we will accept the word of Christ without question.

Yes, everybody goes to heaven.

Are you saying you have a 50/50 chance to get into heaven, you just have to take a guess and pick the right Religion. What if Allah is the real God? Everybody goes to heaven, it would be pretty stupid otherwise because then atleast 50% of the world would not be going to heaven.

Because even Islam is working off not only the word of god, but even the word of Jesus christ himself! So they may be wrong, but even our religion is not right in all area's. Religion is bound to be twisted by the hand of man, this was predicted by god and jesus themselves.

As long as our religions are doing their best to understand god and follow his philosophies, and we are being good people with good intent in our hearts, we will be accepted into god's kingdom.

Actually Islam and Christianity have some similiarities. In Islam, Muhommad (sp) is similar to Jesus christ. What I find interesting is that in the Islam religion, Jesus Christ is considered a prophet but he's not the main prophet (that's muhommad). In Islam, Allah is God. in Islam, muslims don't believe Jesus Christ died on the Christ. They believe that he escaped the cross.

Preciesly. Islam is actually fairly close to christianity in that both religions follow the teaching of Jesus Christ, just that only christianty believes he was the son of god and we do not follow the teaching of Muhommad. And i think there are some other subtle differences as well, i have not studied the religion of islam very well. I know about the pillars of islam and all that, but not that much,

But i think it's safe to say man, that Josh is a hardcore extremist who will not believe us until he is standing by a muslim inside heaven itself.

But i think it's safe to say man, that Josh is a hardcore extremist who will not believe god's true intent until he is standing by a muslim inside heaven itself.

Makes me wonder if I should continue to keep my religious beliefs to myself.

I was under the impression that they are the same thing

No Islam and Christianity are vastly different. Just post in some Islamic forums.

Sure they have some similarities, but I mean Satan uses some truth in his big lie. If Satan even had anything to do with Islam. (i`m sure he did)

What big lie?

The big lie, to lead ppl in hell.

Josh seems very very young and insecure lol...............qwerty2305

My thoughts as well. He is a young one. he will come to understand things more as he grows, or atleast i pray that he does.

Or else he will live a life of hatred and bigotry, something that god will most certainly not accept.

How exactly do you know that Christianity isn't the "big lie" and some other Religion like Hinduism isn't the "Truth"

If Josh lived where I live, he would panic and go crazy. Why? Because I live down the street from a Islamic Mosque.

[QUOTE="Nisstyre_56"] Did I say Islam and Christianity were the same thing?!?! I said I don't see the difference between your God and Allah

The key difference is the following. Allah means God in arabic, however we use this word rather then God because of its grammatical importance. In arabic, it is impossible to pluralize the world Allah, whereas in English you can pluralize God by adding an 's' to it. The word itself has a lot of grammatical significances such as this. In fact, the arabic version of the Bible uses the word Allah in place of God. So saying there is a difference between God and Allah doesn't really make much sense. However, there are theological differences between what Islam believes is God and whom Christians believe is God. The fundemental difference is Islam doesn't recognize the trinity and the divinity of Jesus Christ. Instead, we believe he was the second to last prophet sent by God to fix his message, that had been corrupted by the followers in that era (the Jews at the time). We also do not believe he died for our sins, and don't believe salvation can be sought through him. Instead, we believe God saved him and he ascended to heaven until his later return in the end times. Additionally, we don't believe he was actually killed on the cross, instead he was made to appear as if he did - whether he was crusfixed or was replaced by someone who respembled him is debateable, but ultimately not very significant to us.

It's good to get it out there in the open. It does no harm to atleast try to inform him, and i know that god would prefer you do ;)

Thank you for clarifying that. I don't see many huge differences though, and none on the *nature* of this "God"

Yes, but i haven't read it recently. also, the fact that you have an online friend who is bisexual does not excuse your extremism. I also ask again: Did you read my blog entry about my feelings on religion?

A pleasure to meet you. I am a Christian Baptist by the way. Glad to see a good amount of diversity on these boards.
