This has to be taken out of context. It doesn't even make sense. :P

There is a general misinterpretation of the Separation of Church and State...what the Amendement means is that the Federal Government cannot force any one religion upon the people.
Teachers are government employees.. If they are teaching a religion they are in fact enforcing a religion upon the people.. Hence why public schools and public organizations are secular in nature.

I can see it now.. O'Donnell becomes Palin's running mate for 2012.

dude.. fox news is even reporting it that way.. so you KNOW it's true. lol. actually, that kind of makes me skeptical of whether or not it's true now. :P[QUOTE="fueled-system"]
Typical they twisted it around to make it seem like she did not know
Rush Limbaugh set the record straight though for the mediacomp_atkins
technically she is right that phrase does not appear anywhere in the constitution its an idea that merely refers to no official religion not anything concerning religion or God cant at all be taught in or mentioned in public areas.
the 1st amendment ensures no official religion can exist. but saids nothing that God cant exist in government or all references to God must be blotted out of the government.

DAAMN, that intelligent Design tidbit was painfully dumb.
I think this pretty well clears it up...Her campaign issued a statement later saying O'Donnell "was not questioning the concept of separation of church and state as subsequently established by the courts. She simply made the point that the phrase appears nowhere in the Constitution."
If she was so sure that those exact words wern't in the Constitution why did she sit there with that moronic grin? If she'd have further clarified what she meant instead of asking it over and over again and making herself look unintelligent this wouldn't look so bad for her. It's bad enough she's already behind double digits and it's taking focus off of some of the Teabaggers who might actually win come election day.

Public schools teach evolution and that is the same thing as religion.[QUOTE="Mousetaches"]Charles Darwin believed in God. So because Darwin believed in God, evolution is a religion?[QUOTE="Sineps_2"] Public schools teach evolution and that is the same thing as religion.Sineps_2

Not believing in evolution != creationist. Secondly all that poll shows is that the majority of Americans are vastly misinformed.
I have a conservative friend who says he will bet anyone $100 that they cannot find the words 'separation of church and state' in the constitution. In that regard, he is correct, the constitution never says those words. But it does say "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof." This means that congress will NOT make any laws about religion, and because it is congress that makes all the laws, then religion will always be kept separate from the government.Acemaster27This excuse by the republicans about there not being the actual words of "seperation of church and state" is just a smoke screen to cover up Christine O's complete ignorance and stupidity.

They are not misinformed. They know that God created it. The Bible already proved it.[QUOTE="Sineps_2"][QUOTE="fueled-system"]Typical they twisted it around to make it seem like she did not know Rush Limbaugh set the record straight though for the mediaSerraph105Yes, more people really should listen to Rush Limbaugh. He knows his stuff, and he is very objective. I love your Kirby avi ;) had to be said Well, you can't argue with quality games like the Kirby series. I like how he just consume anything that gets in his way with little regard to what it was.

Yeah, it has. All evidence points in favor of it while there is zero (that's right, zero) evidence to support creationism.

Me too!
*Crunch*
Deeelicious.
:lol:Isn't it also true that she couldn't name the first five freedoms of the constitution, but Coons could?
flazzle
And even better, it is the other way around. Coons is an utter imbecile. Where as O'Donnell can school all of America (because they do not know the 1st Amendment), Coons can't even state the first 5 amendments.
FAIL.

Are you sure? I thought I heard the other way. Maybe someone has a link. I can't believe we have page after page of slamming ODonnel, but NO ONE here mentions that Coons can't even state the 5 freedoms?! I'm sure you have this wrong because I can't believe GS posters are this biased.
