Just yesterday there was a murder in my neighborhood. I walk past the house every morning and it made me wonder what is the closest anyone here has been to one?

The closest murder would be two drug dealers that shot each other to death about 4 houses down from old house. The closest suicide was when I lived in an apartment with my mom, and our neighbor blew his brains out against the wall.
Hahahahaha. That was the last thing I was expecting. TC, someone got killed the floor below me in the adjacent apartment building.Too close...

I guy 1 street down blew his brains out at the tennis courts by my house...about 5 months ago a guy two streets over, held his family hostage, I walked over and watched the whole thing, swat snipers were on my friends roof, and they had armored cars..it was actually pretty cool to watch....Also I was at a party and a fight broke out, and I grabbed my beer (thank god :P) and ran out into the street just in time to see this guy get his butt kicked, dragged onto the curb, and get curbstomped....I still remember the sound.....
Pretty close.
Woman at the supermarket in my neighbouring was stabbed to death by her boyfriend, who I saw often in the store either doing his shopping or waiting for her. So probably within a few feet I guess.
Didn't know him personally though.
Inconsiderate?! The killing or the traffic jam? :PSome guy got shot in the face just outside my office in London. Didn't see it, just the blood and car where he was sitting at the time. Caused a bit of a traffic jam. Some murderers can be so inconsiderate...

Technically manslaughter, but I bought a double scoob ice cream from rite-aid for $1.99 and walked outside. A cyclist had gotten hit by a sedan going about 50 mph; the guy flew off his bike and skidded a bit, a pool of blood forming around his head, his bike nowhere close to him anymore. Ambulance had not arrived yet, but several people had called 9/11.
I just kinda stood there, looking at the panic and mayhem, eating my ice cream. Then when the ambulance finally got there, I realized I was kinda a jerk. This man was dead, or dying, and I was calmly looking on, enjoying my chocolate chip/raspberry treat.
Oh well.

I haven't been close to any murders thankfully,I hope that doesn't change.Of course I'm in High School now...
About a block away from my old apartment, some guy who had been stalking his ex girlfriend blocked her car in with his car as she was trying to leave and shot her in the head, and then shot himself. I was in class at the time.

Well if you're going to shoot someone in a car at least them park first rather than block the road. Some murderers can be extremely selfish I find... Not all of them mind you.

lol Well no one really knows what pushes people off the edge to the point they want to kill someone. So all logical must have been thrown out the window in most cases. When I was in middle school and riding the bus home from school I saw a truck race around the corner when we were stopped. He slammed on the brakes and just sat there for a moment ahead of us before racing past us at full speed. A couple hours later when I was at home I found out that the guy driving the car had wrecked his car just down the road from where I saw him drive past, killing himself. Apparently his girlfriend had been cheating on him with his best friend.
I've often wondered if I was the last person to see him alive when he drove past the bus. I still see the scarred bark of the tree he hit at the end of the street whenever I drive past.
I used to live in a kind of bad neighborhood, so theres no telling.
Twice someone got shot at the corner store, and once our neighbor got stabbed a few streets away.
That all I can really recall.
Lots of gunshots over the years that I lived there but who knows how many of them were actually someone getting shot.
There was a house down the street that I think there was a murder. The husband chopped his wife up with a chainsaw... I think she was sick and he got tired of taking care of her. I live in a good neighborhood though.
In my school in grade 6 a kid was hung off a coat hook in the bathroom. I was in the same grade as him and I was in the school during the time he was being hung, it was during recess so the school was pretty much empty.
