No, I know. I've seen that before. I thought it could be both, though, cuz the Bell Centre is in Montréal, so the French side would stick out.

Everything looks better with a K, EVERYTHING. Apart from cheese, cause then it would look weird, like "Kheese"

Actually "Kheese" looks awesome. So yeah, everything looks better with a K.

SideSwipes

Käze is a pretty cool word. And it happens to be the German word for cheese.

The actual name of Canada is 'Kanata', I heard somewhere, actually.

cheesyjon

But Kanada is Kanaria from Rozen Maiden. D:

But we have the Rogers Centre and the Air Canada Centre in Toronto too. The "re" and the "er" is a difference between American and British English. Nothing to do with French. Another example is "saber" and "sabre" or "theater" and "theatre."

Gray orGrey is one of the words in which I always forget which is considered to be thecorrect spellingsince both spellings are used in the U.S yet people still argue.

I got the same problem, but that's due to me being Americanized after I learned to use British spelling when writing in English, when I was in elementary. I usually write Gray, and Grey = last name.

I just remembered that I got in trouble at school once because I had watched Sesame Street and it told me to spell colour wrong! :P I distrusted the teacher more than I did Kermit the Frog at the time, and was quite stubborn on the subject.

Well, in American English, "colour" is incorrect. So it all depends on where you live, really.

We dropped the "u" because the British wanted to tax it.Engrish_Major
We would have got away with it, if it wasn't for you meddling kids. The US also replaces s with z, specialized for the US spelling and specialised for the British.

No, I know. I've seen that before. I thought it could be both, though, cuz the Bell Centre is in Montréal, so the French side would stick out.

But we have the Rogers Centre and the Air Canada Centre in Toronto too. The "re" and the "er" is a difference between American and British English. Nothing to do with French. Another example is "saber" and "sabre" or "theater" and "theatre."

even though im american i spell sabre with anRE and theatre is ok either way to me but i usually see it as theatre. but color is always without a U for me. most other words with reversable ER and RE endings both forms are ok with me. i had a friend who pronounced sabre as "sawbrey" i lol'd first time he said it while playing GTA.

i prefer sabre becuase saber looks like it should be pronounced "sabber", like sapper but with Bs instead of Ps. i guess im just funny that way. :P
