Really? In my high school and now college almost everyone is conservative. I know maybe 2 other people around my age(21) that aren't hardcore conservatives

But yes it is silly that people are taking a 15 year old kid this seriously

Storm_Marine

Plenty of jaded conservatives in this thread. "There are people who don't agree with me? They must be stupid, teenaged, stoned, hipster douchebags, that's the only way to explain it."

Did you look at a picture of the guy? He screams hipster or hipster wannabe. But go on, defend your new comrade.

Maybe you weren't paying attention, I said I don't want this guy. All he ever did was parrot a bunch of talking points and get invited to speak at a national convention for it. Regardless, how he dresses has little impact on how I feel about his politics.

He's responding to your idiotic comments. and to the fact that this thread is nothing but a "hate conservatives" thread. The kid was 13, and was conservative, now he's a hipster who's changed his mind. Maybe in 10 years when he sees that giving everyone free money when your country is in debt isn't the best solution. Throwing money at a problem doesn't fix the solution. However people using a (now) 17 year old kid's political leanings to make your seem more valid doesn't make a whole lot of sense. "Hey there's this kid who can't even vote yet, and he's a liberal, that must mean liberals are good" Upon Spartan pointing that out the flawed logic in that, it seems many liberals are butthurt, and twisting it as though it's some sort of insult. It's not an insult, it just doesn't make sense to use a 17 year-old kid's opinion to back up your position. And there's no sense in being all insecure and complaining when people point that out.

What? Did you even read my comments? I agreed with him that it's stupid to listen to a kid about politics. And in no way have I hated on conservatives in this thread

 Just admit it, dont make me waste my time digging through the thread.

why the hell would i care to hear the political ramblings of a thirteen year old anyway? I highly doubt he has any great insight into anything other then the regurgitation of others. Politics needs to be experienced and you need to be older then 13 to have experienced enough of it to gain any relevant opinion.

Looks like you're the only one who's "butthurt". I simply stated a fact, that teens and young adults tend to be more liberal, and then you twist it into some insecurity about your political ideology. Bravo dumbass, bravo. Teens and young adults aren't the most mature and experienced individuals on the planet, so using their beliefs to somehow reinforce yours seems a bit idiotic, whatever side of the political spectrum they fall on, no? This is exactly what the TC did.

I guess that somehow means I'm "butthurt". Good to know you're as dumb and immature as the TC though.

How hard can it be? Reaganomics = the one solution for everything and everyone, Jesus rocks, Israel rocks, abortion is bad, evolution is evil, homosexuality makes baby Jesus cry, them arabs are terrorists and evildoers.

I feel any person that flat out hates one side or the other is fairly ignorant. It's not like either party has accomplished much in recent history, and I've never understood why social progressiveness and fiscal responsibility has to be mutually exclusive. Unfortunately so much goes into siding with a single party for campaign contributions, a lot of non-partisanship goes right out the window, as well as productivity. Hell, Obama has spent so much time fundraising these past couple months I'm not sure he's had time to eat a proper meal, much less play a constructive role in our national government. As long as we have two extremes focused around staying in office and fending off the other, I doubt we'll see any significant change for the better any time soon. I imagine we'll ride this 'on the brink of something' line for a quite some time while we go through our medial ups and downs.

Is it just me or are the people who are most liberal and most conservative the ones that are most arrogant, while the centrists are a bit more modest.

I would agree, and it's not just on SW.

I'll admit that some arrogant conservatives on this forum get under my skin and turn me into an arrogant, pissy liberal. On occaision. I'd rather try to be moderate.

People change their political philosophies all the time... both smart and dumb people. I've always been conservative economically, but I have shifted socially over time. I'm more liberal on certain social issues than I used to be. I used to be more war-hawkish.

As I become older and experience different areas of life, you see things from a different perspective and see where the "other side" is coming from.

For example... some people have never been poor and had some kind of medical condition. Some people wouldn't know what that would be like. Maybe if they were in that position, they would either change their stance on healthcare, or at least they'd be sympathetic and see where these people are coming from.

It's one thing to talk about people like statistics on a piece of paper.. it's easy to say you know that it's hard for them, but it's a completely different story if you'd have to live through a certain situation and truly understand what they are going through.

So as people go through life, they have more experiences and sometimes shift their positions.

but try stretching that out to an entire book.

It's easy enough to rant on for an entire book if you don't require facts, logic, consistency or intelligence. Just listen to Rush Limbaugh, You'd think it would be hard doing radio show after radio show with absolutely nothing to say but he does.

Actually, that describes his two books pretty well also.

but try stretching that out to an entire book.

It's easy enough to rant on for an entire book if you don't require facts, logic, consistency or intelligence. Just listen to Rush Limbaugh, You'd think it would be hard doing radio show after radio show with absolutely nothing to say but he does.

My bad, you're right. I was doing exactly that last night and it was easy as crap.

It was pathetic for CPAC to present this kid as some sort of thought-leader for conservatism. A thirteen-year-old writing a book? Please, it's all smoke and mirrors. A few folks make a killing off of this joke. It's a good thing this kid has been excised from conservatism. Perhaps when he really grows up, he'll return.

Left and Right?

Each are so screwed up they make them look like a mirror to one another. Untill the parties get coordinated and ideologically situatiated; I am not pertaining to either one of them.

Guess you could call me an anarchist because I don't agree with today's flow of money to power. I hate it all.
