[QUOTE="AutoPilotOn"]Maybe its a christmas present?martinX3XMy dad doesn't give me christmas presents.
I am sorry if that is true. Not because we all need expensive gifts, but because everyone should get something to show their care towards the ones they love. It doesn't need to be something like a PS3. Anyway, it doesn't sound like you will have any luck getting it. IDK how old you are, but you could just walk somewhere and buy it yourself. by the sounds of it though your dad would soon find out and that would not work haha. Sorry man, when PS4 comes out you can buy that probably :P.
tell him that you doing upholding your end of the bargain only for him to not uphold his end only teaches you that people in the real world will always let you down (even though it does happen a lot) and that it will not help you become successful in life.
Am I the only one that finds this kind of funny? :P
He's obviously trying to test your willpower to see if you're truly worthy of the beloved PS3.
You posted this already.
but to reanswer this question, he's being weird. My dad does this too, even though i have a job at 15. (cut lawns with my friend's dad, mind you).
Your dad his wrong, he has changed his reasoning and is blatantly lying about something.. Just go buy it yourself, tell him if he can't be straight with you, you're not going to be with him.. Contrary to popular believe, parents are not always right :roll:Strider_91
And then make damn sure that he never finds out that you got it. Because it'd feel awfully stupid to spend the money on it and then have your dad throw it in the trash less than a week later. Then the TC would be out of the money AND the PS3.
[QUOTE="UT_Wrestler"]I hate to break it to you, but as long as you live under dad's roof, it's dad's rules. He pays for the mortgage, pays for your food, clothing, cable, etc. If you don't like that, then move out and pay for all that yourself.gamerguru100He was going to buy the PS3 with HIS OWN MONEY that he WORKED for. I think his dad should step aside. It doesn't matter if the TC's dad pays for everything else. Money is earned by working. The TC has earned the PS3 by both working and raising his grade.
This. Imo I think there may some deep underlying anti-video game feeling his dad has. Has your dad ever let you own a game console before now?

I agree. Of course UT_Wrestler is right that the father CAN do what he wants, but that is not a very good father either.
Some solutions:
First option is a joke, though you may consider it. :P jk jk
That's what I'd do. I buy all my stuff by myself. Clothes, food, games, etc. I'm 16 btw :3Just go walk to the store and buy it.

Dad is Microsoft fanboy.Link334LMFAO xD Once he saw that ps3 on the counter and saw Sony logo written on it, he raged.

Actually he can't, thats illegal. it would only be legal if he is 18 or older and obviously he is not. If he was, the dad has NO say what he buys.
p.s. - at the guy above saying "he couldnt if he was dead", I know you are kidding, but that just isnt funny.

He let me buy a DS when I was 12.[QUOTE="UT_Wrestler"]I hate to break it to you, but as long as you live under dad's roof, it's dad's rules. If you've got a job, your parents can legally make you contribute to paying the bills.
When your under 18 you dont own anything. Its entirely up to your parents what you can and cant have, and thats how it should be. When i was under 18 I might have thought otherwise but now I am almsot 30 its my turn!
Your dads obviously a PC fanboy.xTheExploitedI'm thinking more of Xbox 360 fanboy. His son needs to be educated from the Chief! Or Mr. Fenix. :P But to you TC, when's your birthday? If its in the next couple of months or weeks then he might be getting a birthday gift. Or he just doesn't like you. :?
Makes sense to me. You upped your grades in order to get the Ps3, but after you get it, your grades will most likely suffer. Your Dad knows that by holding out the Ps3 as a reward you'll try harder at school - so if he keeps the target there you will continue to get better grades.
You'll thank him when you recieve your great exam results. ;)
Good parenting in my opinion. *high fives TC's Dad*
[QUOTE="CoolSkAGuy"]take a bus lol....bikes good too!!!martinX3XI was thinking of doing that, but I live in the freakn woods.
so do I, it does not make you unable to ride a bike though
[QUOTE="AutoPilotOn"]Maybe its a christmas present?martinX3XMy dad doesn't give me christmas presents. strange, seems like the crimbo pressie give away...mayber he just wants you to be more cautious with your money and not run into any big purchases so that you dont grow up to be a spendaholic and buy your way into debt and keep buying with multiple credit cards and take out loans to cover your credit cards and then when you cant pay back get your house reposessed and end up living on the street with your dog Lucky, playing a small flute in the hope a freindly passerby with throw you some change so you can just get a sandwich from the bakers and then in your sleep another homeless man steals your cloths and you get arrested for indecency and then when they let you out you get given a sandwich by a stranger and you eat it and you die because they drugged it to put you out of your misery.
If it took me a year to save $300 bucks I would never waste it on a PS3. Save up some more and buy a Roth IRA wootwoot
You got your grades up. Now it's time to go down there and buy it, then take it home and play it. Your Dad isn't reasoning with you.
What I don't understand is why he wouldn't just say "No you can't have a ps3" in the beginning instead of playing tricks on me.Makes sense to me. because if he just said no you wouldnt have the possibility of getting it there to motivate you to be more responsible.

Because by saying "if you improve that C grade you'll get a Ps3" he gave you a good reason into trying harder. He probably didn't think you'd push yourself unless you had a nice shiny gift at the end of it.

And I doubt that TC would study more if he got his PS3. Getting a higher grade is a better feeling than playing with a console. ;)Please Log In to post.
