Is your name supposed to be anti-JFK?

Because he was probably the best president on the face of planet in the history of the United States of America.

I personally think that communism is the best government in theory, but Man's flawed hands will never let it work.

In theory we wouldn't need a government at all if Man was nice.

After reading a few articles over time about several political views (democratic socialism, social democracy, communism, socialism, libertarian conservatism, conservatism, libertarian socialism, etc. etc.) taking the "Political Compass". I've figured out that I'm close to a Social Democrat.

I think it's important to learn a bit about everything (from a natural perspective of course) before judging them and figure out what you prefer.

I prefer Teddy myself.  Frankie gets all the credit and no one else.  Teddy Roosevelt, if he was a God on Earth, could have done great things!

It's an unattainable ideal. Every major country that has tried to adopt true communism, has only had it corrupted ala Stalinism or maoism. I even have issues with the ideal communist or socialist state because I think that it takes to much away from the individual, but that's not even the main problem.

Certainly, on small scales it can work. And some countries can implement forms of it, i.e. many european governments have many socialistic policies - but none of them are true socialistic states.

blue_hazy_basic

Socialism is not communism; they're very different concepts. Communism is now impossible because we no longer live in an agricultural society. Communism, the original idea of it, doesn't stifle the individual at all, not my concept of it at least. I'm essentially talking about communes like the famous Kabutz in Israel, that kind of operation.

You do realise the foundation of communism is an industrial society and the revolution by the urban proletariat(and therefore why we have never seen a true "communist" revolution or government)? When Marx wrote about future communist states he envisioned Britain or Germany as the primary hotbeds of revolution not Russia.

You do realize that communism is a reaction AGAINST industrialization? That's the whole point. Marx not only saw economic inequality, but he also believed that the manufacturing line would deprive the worker of an essential pleasure: the sight of his finished work. Without this, people would be unhappy, and I think to a large extent Marx was right.

Here are some problems with democracies with capitalist economies, mainly the US since it claims to be the leader of the "Free World" -Special interest groups rule. aka whoever lobbies the most. ex the tobaco industry, MADD, etc. -Elections can be rigged quite easily. ex. Bush vs Gore -All about profits. aka human labor and luxuries are never considered. ex mandatory vacations in europe and former USSR. -Extremely conservative overall. aka oil, and securing interents by any means, AKA Deasert storm. there are a lot of things to mention, but these are some of the more interesting ones.

Republican, although I don't always agree with everything Bush does. He's not a bad president, but some things I don't support.

You're overlooking one huge flaw with democracy: I know no one who wants only what is good for them, and so people vote according to this, or they may indeed want the best for themselves and not know what that is. Democracy is very flawed in that respect.

libertarian. so im part of the right wing.

right wing = freedoms

left = communism and socialism (related to nazism mind you)

GreatDecay

right wing = patriot act = no freedoms.

thats funny that you honestly believe george bush to be right wing... cute little pseudo-intellectual.

neocons arent right wing in my honest opinion.

without getting into much detail, I find it very amusing that you took it upon yourself to "educate me" on the full political spectrum. You and me both understand that you dont know a whole lot about how government works, So why did you feel the need to actually speak? Did you think somehow I wouldnt respond to this? Did you think that I would feel wrong in some manner?

You've got it wrong.

Yes, left is Communism and SOME socialism, but National Socialism falls under right wing ideals. I'm not bashing either, Communism is equally as bad. Libertarian is also in the center, I believe it's social liberalism and economic conservatism.

I dont see how it falls under right wing ideals. I know many people consider it to be it, but the bottom line is socialism and communism are similar. communism is all the way left. in my opinion anarchy is the absolute farthest to the right. libertarianism is far to the right also. you need to realize that the right tends to favor small governments, socialism is a big government system.

Wow, so you don't understand political ideology at all do you?

Nazism is a far right wing ideology in which rights are severly restricted, communism and socialism are left wing ideology that support mixed or non capitalistic economys, and the left supports greater social freedoms.

the best leftist propagenda says that nazism is part of the right. it is not.

liberalism advocates social freedoms.... as does true right wing.  you watch too much television. you think george bush is a true right winger, when hes a neocon. neocons are heavily influenced by liberalism.

what possibly could advocate social freedom more than a small government? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

 the right wing = freedom

left = a long road that eventually ends at fascism.

Was that a serious comment?

yes it was a serious comment.

nazism is nationalist socialism. socialism is part of the left.

the only joke is you.

Doesn't matter, they're all the same, corrupt politicians pretending to represent the people but in reality on representing corporations. I am an American who demands more than 2 parties.
