[QUOTE="YoshiYogurt"] Rofl, because Romney would do better? Please crawl out from under your rock.worlock77

Sadly enough, voting for Romney just to get Obama out of office is probably the best reason to vote for him. Since his business record doesn't really inspire confidence in his ability to do what's right for the country, and he won't talk about his record as Governor of Massachusetts (and it's not really anything to brag aout anyway), he really has nothing going for him besides anti-Obama sentiment.

It's pretty much 2004 again, only flip-flopped. In 2004 the Democrats had a weak candidate who's campaign was "I'm not the incumbent". This year the Republicans have a weak candidate who's campaign is "I'm not the incumbent".

I don't think Romney will even get as close as Kerry was to winning.

Yeah, this election is remarkably similar to 2004.

is it not a joke every year?

our 2 way party system needs to die along with main stream media never giving Independent any coverage. Clearly it's not working

He's upheld quite a lot of them. And he, at least, has a chance at getting his campaign promises through because he has a solid base of support in the legislature. Ron Paul does not.

worlock77

yeah, but he's broken some of his biggest like halving the deficit by the end of his first term.

Not necessarily a pledge he ever would have been able to keep. But you're deflecting the topic. My question was not about Barack Obama, it was about Ron Paul. What do you honestly expect Paul would do as President?

I believe Ron Paul would balance the budget, eventually begin to lower the deficit and strengthen the value of the dollar thus strengthening the economy. Now you're dodging my question, you make out Ron Paul wouldn't keep his promises but you choose to ignore how Obama neglected one of his biggest promises.

It ain't a matter of breaking promises, but you do realize that the President cannot just do as he pleases right? He has to work through Congress, and how do with expect Paul to get his agenda through a Congress that would be hostile to his agenda on pretty much all sides? It's not that he would shirk his promises, it's that he simply would not be able to get them through.

I dodged no question as you asked me no question. And I did not ignore Obama's promise to cut the budget in half, I stated it was one promise he never would have been able to enact. Certainly at least not in his first term.

And before you make the mistake of accusing me of blindly supporting Obama be aware that I have no plans on voting for him this year.

Well, sorry to burst all of your bubbles, but I just shellacked Obama in the election on The Political Machine 2012. Played as Romney with Ryan as my VP and won every state except New York and New Jersey. Spent less than Obama, too. Only spent 30 million, he spent 60.

Well, I bet you ran a hell of alot better campaign than Romney is currently.

That being said, that looks like a cool site. I'll have to try it a little later. I'll probably give it a try playing as both Obama and Romney.

The game is outrageously fun. Now I'm playing a custom politician and hoping my grass-roots campaign can win me the electoral votes I need.

That does sound really fun.

I didn't want to pay for it, but I might just shell out the 10 dollars.

You won't be disappointed. It helps if you have a basic understanding of the states, too. Because you can pick and choose which states to campaign heavily in, or leave entirely alone. Like I'm not even trying to win the north east, even though my candidate is from NY.

AdamPA1006

He never originally stated an opinion on the issue.

In order to flip flop he has to change opinions, which he never expressed 'till recently derp.

Never had my vote.

He might be able to earn my vote if he gets the right mix of things he used to believe and things he believes now, but probably not.

Politics altogether are now a joke - it's all about popularity and lies now. Politicians will bend their views to whatever is required to get into office. Once in, they just push their own agendas.

When has politics ever been about anything other than lies and popularity? :?
