Actually it does contain the fashion and sterotype of an emo person.

So its a ****of hair/clothing not a type of person.

Yeah, but the point is a person is defined by the clothing they wear, the way they act,the type of music they like,ect,ect....The sterotype,if you will.

But the "way they act" is a false stereotype at best. There is no "code of emo" that people base their actions on.

Yeah, they act sad all the time, they cut themselves, they write sad poetry. These are the general sterotypes of how emos act. Most people think of an emo as someone who preforms these actions.

There is no such thing as an emo.

And the reason scene kids cut themselves is because that is how they handle their emotional pain and stress. Everyone handles their's in different methods.

dooly420

that's nonsense, they cut themselves for attention. i've met a couple actual cutters, and they cut themselves in places where people aren't going to see it. emos cut their wrists, so people will see it.

Like I just said, there is no such thing as an emo.

And not all scene kids cut their wrists. Most of them cut their arms, shoulder, ankles, thighs, hair line, stomach and such. Not the wrists.

i've yet to meet an emo that cuts someplace besides their wrist.

I wouldn't say I'm a fan of the stereotypical emo personality, but I'll have to admit, the appearance can be pretty awesome sometimes.

If i can remember your last sig said "i love emos"

The only real emos, are the ones that deny that they are emos.

I'm an emo because I say I'm not an emo? What? So if I said I was I wouldn't be?

I mean people that fit that sterotype, yet still deny it to their graves..*cough*Hinata*cough*

Oh right, yeah, I agree.

They annoy me more than anything. Luckily, I don't have to deal with them that much since there are hardly any at university. I just don't like their attitude (from what I've experienced) trying to act depressed and tough at the same time and giving people (including me) dirty looks.

I agree, thats one reason why I look down on those soft hearted wimps, I suppose cutting yourself is a good way of releasing such "anguish and pain". Bah! Hit the damn gym! Cutting yourself is rather painful, and your body is something that you should take care of, not destroy it.

I can't believe some of the stupid and self centered things people are posting... As far as im concerned "Emo" honestly does not exist. Emo isn't all about cutting yourself and going suicidal... its just someones way of expressing there feelings when they have no one else in there life to turn to. I go through constant depression just being around my family and sometimes my friends. If they want to call me "emo" thats fine! But this war over a so called "Emo halocaust" and what not has just got to stop. If you don't like it fine! Just leave others alone, because you don't know how bad some of their lives are! Not everyone is just posing.

Why do people assume all emo kids cut themselves and only emo kids cut themselves? I was a very normal kid in my early teens and I just started slashing away at my arms one day and it turned into a full blown addiction. Damn near killed myself a few times.

Are you talking about emo or scene? I'm just going to assume you mean scene...

And no, not really. I am unfortunately part of what is now the the "scene" demographic, so of course they don't creep me out.

Well, maybe a bit, but that's the point.

i love how this hinita was sticking up for emo children when he has pictures of your stereotypical emo/scene kids in his sig.

i've had friends who called themselves 'emo' and 3 of them cut themselves (in a variety of places but they would always have it on show), threatened to kill themselves and would make it painfully obvious. imo (the ones that cut themselves atleast) are just self centered, who don't think about how they make others feel in their desperate attempts for attention, people who are really despressed wouldn't parade their depression around following a stupid label and cutting themselves. i had a friend who actually was feeling depressed and lonely and we only found out after he killed himself and left a suicide note and once this happened, all my emo attention seeking friends stopped being how they was after this.

note: they also make everything about the emo stereotype seem really dramatic ie "EMOS DON'T EXIST:cry:" give me a break:roll:

It kinda annoys me that they act like that, make-up themselves like that and whine (yes, most of them in my country whine about anything going wrong). I mean, everybody has problems, especially the teenagers since they grow up, but that is not normal. Cutting your artery? You know that by that you are in serious danger? Besides that, emo boys don't look like boys (i.e. I thought at the beginning that the leader of Tokio Hotel was a chick) and it just ends up ruining their life. I wonder what do parents do about their children?

I got no problem with emos. Some of my best friends arent emos but look like them and apparently fit the stereotype, and they are some cool people. Ive only met 1 who had cut before and she did need psychiatric help because of other crap. Shes fine nowadays and not as emo looking. However I dont think any different of her. Look at the person, not the uniform. Thats my motto.

They've certainly got me questioning my sexuality. Many times whilst bored at the bus station I've looked at someone I assumed to be a slim cute girl, with a nice bum, only to realise when they turn around that it's some guy wearing tight fit jeans and straightened hair. Not sure why he had a handbag though...

In general I like emo people, they tend to be quite childish in a retro sort of way (Mario bags and the like) but I just hate it when their music is given other labels like "post-hardcore". Either admit it or choose a different hobby.

P.S. Just a thought, the MySpace pose creeps me out. Big time.

i think that's the point he was trying to make. scene/emo's/whatever cut themselves.

why would people cut themselves. it's not a healthy way of expressing oneself no matter how you look at it.
