Same at my school. Im used to being called emo or goth by most people, even though i dont look anything like one and its usually coz of the music i listen to (since when is Metallica Emo or Goth :s) This guy me and my mate know calls my friend emo, which he isnt, hes the furthest thing from emo pretty much, and the guy calling him emo isnt emo either, but hes got this sort of emo fringe happening, so im not to sure whats happening there. However the emo hating has died down a hell of a lot from last year. They just fit in like most people, however they still get talked about badly by some people, but in a school of teenagers just about everyone is talked about badly, even myself :o I got called emo for getting some BLONDE in my hair. I mean, lol. And I can pretty much relate to what you said. It's so messed up.
I think I know why you aren't seeing many emos. It's emo mating season and they all flock to North America this time of year. For some reason they go to North America to breed...
