4/100,000 vs .15/100,000 doesn't yield a significant deviation and it doesn't take into account the total number of people victimized. It's like comparing the number of cheeseburgers eaten in a day to provide evidence that americans overeat. There is no direct correlation.

Its funny how everyone always laughs at the US but nobody laughs at Ireland even though we have as many if not more problems than the US. However, an increase is not a good thing....especially with all the bragging in this thread about the gun control in the UK. If gun control works...how is crime increasing?

4. Something needs changing if the difference between crime rates is that high. Ownership of guns is bad when idiots get hold of them, something I find more likely if there is no ban (A ban would not apply to all types of gun, shotguns longer than 2 ft are legal in Britain, for example, so very necessary and legitamate uses would still be allowed. I know my school stores rifles for its Combined Cadets Force).
