I've talked to people from canada and other countries and they always seem to have a great time bashing America. I would guess other countries laugh, they have so much to laugh at.

Before...when one had a few hateful words to say about about America...it was jealousy.

Now...they are mostly true, the value of the dollar is dropping all over the world, the war is getting REALLY annoying, and the next president is going to be a Democrat ONLY because of what Bush has done...and YOU people picked him...2 times as your president. Yeah...blame it all on him....

The US is a lot better off then most of the other countries out there. There's definately a lot of places the we can improve on (lol), but doesn't every country? We have had more impact on the world then, dare I say, any other country.

Go US Army.

We probably do have more impact on the world than others...but not all of those are good.

What makes me laugh is all the people here who think our country is collapsing or something. A recession is natural, and you can't really blame it on anyone, especially not the president.

People who think the USA is completely stupid are just as stupid as the USA... wait.

3 of the world's best universities (MIT, Yale, Harvard), more money put into education than most countries of similar population have in gross... I wouldn't say Americans are lacking in intelligence.

In Europe you always hear of how some "Yank" has gone and done something like leap out of his car thinking the cruise control would automatically drive the car into his garrage (hilarious and true), but thats a few stories from a few stupid people. Not a great representation of a nation comprising of over 300,000,000 (who descended from Europe mostly so hush up silly anarachists).

Only the elite go there, typically people who come from a legacy (father, grandfather, etc also went there), went to the best private schools, or had a family member that has given a lot of money to the campus. Those schools have something like a 4% admitance rate... normal people do not get in. Tuition is also around $33,000... You're confusing private education (that the few recieve) and public education (that everyone else gets). Our public education system is not very good... Yes, we are lacking in intelligence in that sense. I only know a handful of people who I would actually consider intelligent... the rest are dumbasses.

Intelligence is relative anyway. So what Americans aren't typically culture vultures that nurse a minature cup of imported coffee all day thinking about their next painting and what "life" is all about. Nobody does corporations and finance lke the Americans, nobody is quite as ambitious in big projects like NASA etc, certainly nobody does entertainment as well (bollywood you should be ashamed).

If you think about it, no matter what you do you are always learning. Even now as you probibly (don't) read this post you are atleast reading something and learning what i'm saying. When playing a game you are learning controlls and how to camp etc. Even walking along the road (i hear that nobody walks in america so i'll stop that exemplem). Tests and IQ scores aren't some divine scripturethat is perfect and sent from the heavens for us to label sinners and reward the goodies. Tests are merely a measure of what some boring old white middle-class male thinks qualifies for further education or as a label of "clever" or "not clever".

The news channels in the USA air the stupidest stories. Right now on MSNBC they have a "Breaking News Story" of a house on fire in Oregon. As if Americans have never seen a building on fire...

The people running for president are complete imbeciles who have no solutions to real problems.

The U.S. dollar is being inflated to the point of bankruptcy...

Our current president is a wimp and never talks about what's important, but instead focuses on more B.S.

I would have to imagine that even Canada is now laughing at the U.S.

H8sMikeMoore

well, lets take europe for example

they can laugh all they want but they have a government that has way more power over the people than ours does. and even though they have a stronger currency, were still the super power they are not.

Europe is not a country btw...

Nor do I believe my government holds anymore power over me than the US government did when I lived there. And if you're looking at Europe as a whole then yes, they have the land, forces, resources and nukes to be considered a superpower.

I knew someone was going to mention Florida! But so soon? *^_^* Honestly, I think that whole "You know what it looks like?" is a joke that's just grasping at straws. If one were desperate enough they could say the same thing about Southern Ontario, or the lower part of Quebec. In fact, they cold say it about upteen landmasses on Earth :P

The only thing I laugh about when I look at the USA is the fact that they still don't have a universal health care system. I just can't imagine life without one. Also, I plan on becoming a doctor in 7-8 years time and I'd consider myself scum if I denied someone treatment because they couldn't pay. People become doctors to help people, not to get rich. I mean I live in one of the smallest countries in the world(Malta) and even we have a better system than the US(we're 5th in the world according to WHO IIRC).

Just my 2c.

they don't get turned down medical attention. it's actually a tactic used by a lot of illegal immigrants. they come over and have their kid in an american hospital. (you can't turn a patient down) and boom their kid is a full-fledged american...

There's a big difference between the care itself and the payment of said care. Our care is not terrible. Funny that people come from countries with healthcare to pay to get care here. I think that says enough....

Everyone that defends American healthcare says that. Pretty pathetic argument. The fact is that for the average person receiving healthcare in the UK and America it's pretty much exactly the same. Just because some super rich person can travel to America can get the best healthcare because they are rich does not make you have a good healthcare system. You could come to England today and get any operation free without ever paying a penny of taxes. Thats why we have a better healthcare system than you.

There is nothing to suggest your doctors are any better than ours, because they are not. You have just been brainwashed into hating our healthcare system. Why would anyone leave peoples lives to corrupt immoral insurance companies? It's pretty disgusting.

let me guess... you watched the propaganda oh i mean documentary called sicko?

False, because American healthcare is better than British healthcare. People from other nations come here because they have a better chance of living through killer deseases. What your problem seems to be is with how it is distributed. The poor don't have to pay, they get medicaid, and thats as good as the NHS. Those who can afford it, like my family does now, buy healthcare insurance. It's not that one can't get healthcare in the US, its that one choses not to.

Hahah, yes okay i'm going to read some bias peice of crap called 'die in britian, live in the US' okay enough of that perfectly reliable source of information.

Please show me a singlepieceof information from a non terrible source that says the average American doctor is better than an English one.

Thats a British article, mate. ;)

So? I'm sure you I could find you a thousand horror stories from Americans being denied treatment for cancer because they filled there insurance form out wrong.

go for it... except no one is turned down...

LJ American healthcare is terrible. Englishhealthcareis not perfect, but it's a thousand times better than yours. As for gun crime, of course we have it. At least guns are illegal in England.

i didn't know you were an authority on health care quality. When was the last time you were in an american hospital?

Secondly, guns being illegal has nothing to do with you having gun crime. The criminals are already criminals so why does it matter whether the weapons they use are illegal. I'd be willing to say that most gun related crimes in america use illegal guns to begin with (illegal modifications, illegal ownership, or illegal concealment).

So making them more illegal doesn't effect the crime rate. Why is this a hard concept to grasp?

Also. School shootings. To be honest the kids killed with LEGAL weapons in the the growing number of school shootings lives are worth alot more than your right to shoot a bit of cardboard.

So the problem isn't the parents and the peers and it's definitely not that person commiting the actions. It's the gun! The gun MADE them go to school and shoot up the place!

It's also false to say that the gun was legal because in most cases they WERE legal until the kids stole them from family, illegally altered them, brought them an area where guns are prohibited, and then used them illegally!

You completely disregard that these people premeditate murder and blame the gun. Do you think that they wouldn't have found a different way of doing these things if guns were'nt available? Imagine if the killer used a knife and gun fire didn't warn the rest of the school and these people were able to take even more lives because people didn't realize what was going on.

Getting rid of guns doesn't get rid of criminals.

Oh I see it's good that they used a gun! I've seen situations where acompletelynormal person after drinking would have shot someone if they had a gun. People are tooemotionaland unpredictable to be given something with no other function than to kill human beings.

[QUOTE="swizz-the-gamer"][QUOTE="LJS9502_basic"][QUOTE="swizz-the-gamer"]LJ American healthcare is terrible. Englishhealthcareis not perfect, but it's a thousand times better than yours. As for gun crime, of course we have it. At least guns are illegal in England.jlh47

No I have not seen it I hateMichaelmoore.

You don't like our healthcare? Is that a fact? :O

No, guns aren't a problem in the UK, knives are. It's very rare that we hear breaking news about gun murders.

Nice try though. :|

Obviously if I said I don't like your healthcare...it's a FACT that I don't like your healthcare.

Gun crime is up in the UK.;)

Nice try though...

People are tooemotionaland unpredictable to be given something with no other function than to kill human beings.

how do you think you get meat?...

I'm a vegetarian!

I hate to say it, but there is alot to laugh at.

You'll find alot of Europeans get quite amused at America's morality police running around and talking crap about everything under the sun.

Morality police went out of fashion around the time the inquisition began. Get with the times, people.

[QUOTE="swizz-the-gamer"] How old where they? like 16. They went into a shop and bought bullets... Bullets. In England if your under 18 you cant buy spray paint.swizz-the-gamer

You could by a jug of antifreeze and forcefeed it to a person and kill them. So should we legislate the sale of anti-freeze?

Antifreeze has a use. Guns do not. Don't try to tell me your going to overthrow your goverment.

Guns have uses too. A large majority of the people I work with eat venison. It allows the low incomes to be stretched further. There are also programs where hunters donate their venison to soup lines to help feed the hungry and under priviledged.

This doesn't even bring up the sporting aspects.

People in England hunt deer. Those guns are Legal with alicense. Ak-47s however are not.

fully automatic ak-47's aren't legal here...

Over here there is a various health insurance choices. The problem is some people feel they are healthy and would rather spend the money on SUV'S...gas...beer...anything BUT the insurance. Their choice.....I'd say a bad one but they have to live with it.

I would have to imagine that even Canada is now laughing at the U.S.

jointed

well, lets take europe for example

they can laugh all they want but they have a government that has way more power over the people than ours does. and even though they have a stronger currency, were still the super power they are not.

I'd say Europe as a whole is a pretty big super power. And I'm american

well as an american, you are wrong. theres only one super power in this world currently

Before you make such ridiculous claims, you need to define what a super power is.

Learn some history.
The only two nations ever to be a Superpower was both United States and Soviet Union.
After the Cold War, resulting in Soviet Union's downfall, U.S.A. remains as the only Superpower.

The US could and should change that....

LJS9502_basic

Why shouldn't they grant citizenship to everyone born in this country?
