women tend to say things like "i want to meet a nice guy", or "looks aren't everything", but it's curious how it often helps if, as well as having a nice personality, you also look like brad pitt and have a bank balance like bill gates... just saying :P lets face it, we're all shallow, women are just better at hiding it than we are. although eventually, everyone looks for someone nice as a long-term partner. nobody wants to marry a douchebag.

Depends on your definition of "nice" If by nice you mean you have respect for her then yeah, women like that. But it seems the definition of a "nice guy" is just shifting to someone with no confidence whatsoever.

It's not that woman don't like nice guys. It's just that a lot of "nice" guys tend to be extremely insecure/lack confidence. Most woman want someone that at least has some confidence/self respect.

From my experience:

1. they LIKE nice guys

2. they LUST the bad guys

I don't understand why you all think girls like jerks either. Just because your girl friends who are just your friends complain that their bf at the moment is being a jerk - and its most likely because they didnt do something like buy her her favorite flower or something - or it is a mutual fight - doesn't mean they are with jerks. Girls who are into the legitimate jerks have internal issues within them as well and arent worth anyones time due to that baggage or are into S&M. Sajedene

Nice guys tend to give too much to a relationship, therefore devaluating themselves. If someone gives you a chocolate cake every day, after a while your not going to appreciate it. If you put forth an effort to get a chocolate cake every once and a while, you appreciate it a lot more.

I'm a nice guy, once I figured out it's about keeping a balance of each person giving 50%, my relationships got much better.

I think eventually they do, when it comes time for them to settle down.

Sure, but they don't like door mats. Being too selfless at first will make you come across as a wimp to them.
