I would say when I refer to a guy being a jerk it involves certain issues like the guy being nothing but a horndog who treats the girl like nothing more than a piece of meat.

I also can't stand guys who just try to sleep with as many random girls as possible and then just toss them to the side afterwards. I have called some guys sluts before for that behavior....

No actually she is only 18 but getting smart about the guys she dates (she has dated nothing but jerks so far but now is moving away from that and suppossedly the guy shes going for now isn't a jerk). The guys are just good examples of jerks IMO. I hate the way she gets treated and I am determined to make sure she gets treated right even if the guy shes dating isn't me...

In high school they sure don't. They go for the jerks and jocks. After school they change, most do anyway.

When a girls says that a guy is too "nice," she is not talking about how well he treats her or not. She is saying that he is boring.

Of course, nice guys>jerks. Any woman who is on her right mind would know this and I'd think less of one that doesn't and even some of those type of girls would in fact like to probably end up with a good one.

Not all of them although a lot do, sometimes they know its an act. That does not mean you have to start acting like a jerk, it might be a lack of self-conidence. If a women does not like you then you have to move on.

Well, I guess many people here are thinking that a nice guy is the equivilent of an insecure, under confident dude, so I'll go with liking the nice guys. I like when I'm the best a guy can ever get, it never gets old, too ;)

I think there are a lot of guys out there who treat women like fragile little flowers, and I think that's what the turn off is. Like if I'm out with a guy, I say or do something stupid, and he cracks a joke about it, that's cool. If a guy is too insecure to make the slightest joke, in fear of hurting my poor little feelings, than that's a problem. I guess it would be relative for any girl, but i think it's safe to say it's possible be too nice.

If you can't be comfortable enough with eachother to poke fun at eachother then thats a horrible sign.

I will crack jokes like that but in a fun manner. However, I can get VERY defensive and protective of girls I care for when there is serious bad talk or such going on about them....

Taking little jabs at eachother, and poking fun is what makes my friends and I fit so well together. I've never managed to find a guy who seems to get me, so I guess I'll be waiting till they realize that I'm not that scary :P

I've made that mistake...it makes me become boring. And I assume most girls don't like us (me) thinking they can't take care of themselves.

I am good at maintaining control over my jealousy that DOES come about sometimes. I only get protective when it comes to seeing or hearing the girl treated badly. I was ready to fight a guy at our work once because he ticked off the girl I was going after....

you should be able to find someone BTW. Me and all my friends poke fun at eachother too and it seems to be a very common thing. I myself am accepting the fact that women very GREATLY on what they want in a guy so I know if I keep patient like I have been I will find someone now that I am able to put myself out there.
