[QUOTE="Hoobinator"]It also hints at financial turmoil, Babylon the great prostitute that sits on many waters will rise up and become the dominant economic, military and cultural empire in the world. It will rule over huge swathes of the world and wage war with whoever it wants. It will fight in the Middle East and against religious people it hates. All nations of the world trade with it, and it thinks of itself as indestructible and completely safe, far away from most other nations. This nation will be completely destroyed.
Also there will also be famines.
There will be earthquakes.
There will be widespread adultery and fornication, propagated by Babylon the prostitute nation.
Take that at whatever value you want.

Where exactly is Babylon?
Well you see the Bible uses the word "Babylon" in multiple ways. There is the old Babylon, an old empire that was destroyed in the nowadays Middle East. And then there is "Babylon the prostitute, the Bible uses this word to demarcate between the old, destroyed Babylon and the new Babylon, obviously since the old Babylon hasn't been around for even before the New Testament was written. But Babylon is also the name of the City that lies within greater Babylon. Why is the term Babylon used, because new Babylon will be like old Babylon, warlike and anti-God, even though it does not understand it.
Revelations 17:18
Everything that I've written can be found in Revelations, Isaiah and Jeremiah of the Bible.
Again take it as you will.
