Around 2007 years ago.

Actually..he was considered a Son of God as we all are now. He came in flesh and blood..no different then us all, except for a few super powers. God in his original "form" has not shown himself...

me too , why the f*** would you believe in science over God? God created everything , including what are we doing right now.

Posting on Gamespot? Well God is pretty much going against his own rules of freewill then right?

Jesus is still a third of the Holy Trinity that is God. God the Holy Father God the Holy Son (Jesus) God the Holy Spirit His "Son" as such was probably just his own representation on earth. He did after all make us in his own image.

But christ pleaded with god at several moments during his life. Does that not indicate the two are seperate?

Exactly..he made himself come down as a "mortal". A human being. You can say that God came...but it wouldn't be 100% correct. If we were to see God in his essence...there would be no doubt.

What? Jesus was God...Jesus prayed for for human kind..nothing to it.

Nope, just really curious about the things that drive people to do what they do.

Thats really no different from what the Bible was really trying to teach people to do. Look inside yourself for an answer and such things. Jesus had his Messiah Powers and everything, more than a mortal man would be able to. In a sense yes they are all separate but they all make up "God" each of them being a third of the overall being.

Science is going to prove the nonexistance of a higher being? A being invisible to us at all times...and being which cannot be fathomed by mortals? It's like trying to prove that Scientology is false...

It's been about 10 thousand years and they havent proven everything. Everytime we get close, we open up an entirely new layer of science. We had physics, we had relativity, then we had Quantom Physics, etc. etc.

It's quite possible, 1 million years from now, we still will not have found out everything. You overestimate human knowledge considerably.

And as for religion dying out...only 12% of the entire world's population is athiest. just a little more is buddhist. The rest is religious.

Thats really the beauty of religion. There is no way you can actually 100% disprove it altogether, because of the fact we are dealing with powers that we probably couldn't fathom and if we could, the deities would just have other unfathomable powers. But as long as there are people out there that will continue to research anything and everything to disprove a higher power, the hyper technologically advanced future that awaits us will be sweet.

Of course, but i love irony, so that might just be my little fantasy there. But its not out of the realms of possibility. The only way atheists can 100% disprove a higher power is by just continuing to research the vast technology tree until they get to the end if there is one.

That's the most innaccurate statement ever. Only 12% of the world thinks they "Know" that religion is fake. The rest of the world, is quite comfortable with their beliefs.

I don't know if you have seen the famous Hubble pictures of the universe. Anyway around 6 years or so after the Hubble was first put into space they aimed it into apparent blank space and took photos using all kinds of filters and zooms to it can see extremely far into space (talking billions of lightyears). after 9 days of talking pictures they overlayed all the results and it is just dense galaxies and stars, barely any black at all. just trillions of plants scattered throughout. now thats just a tiny fragment of space. To think we're the only life in the universe is pretty arrogant of us. But other intelligent life that we will one day communicate with? probably not until we invent some hyperdrive engine so we can leave our own galaxy. after all it take 9 million years traveling at the speed of light to get to Pluto ( i think its 9 million, could be 90...)

Science deals with explaining the natural world.  If God made the natural world, wouldn't that mean science explains the order and likeness that God created?

Actually at the speed of light, or just under it, it would only take several weeks/months to reach pluto. Pluto is not even a lightyear away if i remember correctly. As a matter of fact, the system nearest us (Sirius? Alpha Centauri? Beta Cygni 68? cant remember) is only 50 lightyears away thus meaning if we had some sort of speed-of-light ship, we could reach that system in 50 years. (Lightyears = how many years it takes light to reach a point. So if you can travel at the speed of light....)

Traveling to other star systems is not out of the realm of possibility. And if Michio Kaku's research on String Theory and Worm Holes turns out to be correct, then we will have a lot of possible routes to take for reaching a time when we can travel between solar systems quickly.

A light speed ship? Where can I get one?

[QUOTE="gogators4life"]I believe in Science, pretty soon their won't be any religions, cause Science is going to prove everything, in about 20 years, their won't be any religions, like I said, Science is going to prove EVERY THING. Ineedtofindyou

With things like myspace, the Middle East, bacterial resistence and then some, I wouldn't count on us being alive for another 200 years, if that.

What, do you think this is the only stuff to threaten man kind? There was the cold war, there was hitler the crusades, the dark ages, the plague, aids, etc. etc.

The human race has come across diseases which have killed millions and been uncurable, weapons that could fry the earth in a milisecond, and wars which raged on for many years, and we are still here. If there is one thing that history should have taught you, it's that - Unless we are hit by a gamma ray burst, We will adapt and we will survive.

[QUOTE="Apollo5000"][QUOTE="mohan88"]> Thats really the beauty of religion. You seem to be a smart guy. Can I ask you a question? Do you think that Human beings are the only one in the whole Universe? Because so far out in the Galaxy it's all stars, blacks holes,etc......Tolwan

Ah thats right. Don't know what the actual numbers are then, but they are pretty high, maybe because it 4am my minds not so sharp... Damn lightspeed ruining my train of thought.

[QUOTE="Apollo5000"][QUOTE="mohan88"]> He already has, apparently. Really when?a55assin

Around 2007 years ago.

Actually..he was considered a Son of God as we all are now. He came in flesh and blood..no different then us all, except for a few super powers. God in his original "form" has not shown himself...

John 10:30

I and the Father are one.

John 8:58

Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.

Jesus Christ was there, along with Adam and Eve.  He has always been God in his original form.  Read Exodus.

Funny, since both disease, bacteria and nuclear weapons also adapt and survive.  If there ever was a threat to human existence, it is now, of all times.  Especially when I see 12 year-olds look like prostitutes on the street.

Uhh...God came down as a mortal man unto earth. He was not in his original form, he was reborn..sort of. God is not human...

I believe in Probability, It is more probable that God does not exist than it is probable that he does. Also, your poll should have said "Scientific Process" not just Science. That's a bit inaccurate....

But Jesus Christ and the Holy spirit are part of his original form, consisting of the trinity.  Gos is not bound by a tangible body, so his original form came down as man but was still associated with his divineness.  I know what you're saying...I think it's just the word play here.

That Ebola virus in the African jungle for example. No matter what you get that you are dead within 24 hours. thankfully all airports are outwith 24 hours of the Jungle so it hasn't spread, If it does though, thats mankind pretty much done for. You say Hitler and the Cold War were threats that could end Mankind. Hitlers purpose wasn't really to end all of mankind, it was just to make everyone his kind. Cold War very well could have ended it all. But now we're dealing with extreme biological warfare to the extent of mass genocide on a biblical scale. I don't recall Weapons that could fry the earth in seconds though. Star Wars is pretty close but that'd take longer i suppose.
