[QUOTE="abdelmessih101"] Arguing with nonbelievers is useless because they can never understand the relationship that some believers have with God. These relationships that I've experienced can't be proven (to others) or disproven (to us). That's why it's a waste of time - one side has a relationship that proves to them beyond a doubt that God exists, while the other side sees absolutely no proof that God exists and will continue to argue that God doesn't exist because of the lack of evidence to them.
God can't be proven to anyone unless they have faith first. You can't approach religion with logic and expect to come out with faith - you must approach with faith first and then you will get some logic out of it. This is something that atheists refuse to do - why, I don't know - some even refuse to believe in His miracles. But as long as that's the case, there is no use arguing this anymore.

In the US at least most atheists were Christian for a sizeable portion of their lives. So yes, most of us understand the "relationship" you have with God because we once thought we had the same relationship. It's just that as we grew up we came to the realization that it didn't actually exist and was nothing more than an expectancy effect. Let me ask you this: Why is that followers of every religion have the same intense religious experiences/oneness with their gods/visions/etc? If your god was the only true god then this shouldn't hold true, only Christians should be the ones who have relationships/emotional experiences with their god.
But let me state this again because so many theists seem to think that all atheists have never been religious in their lives: In religious nations like the UK and US the vast majority of athiests were religious (many devoutly religious) at some point in time, usually up until late adolesence. We're had first hand experiences of faith, we know what it's like, so don't say that we don't understand.
If they understood the relationship, they wouldn't call it blind faith. And many people lose faith because they're believing in the wrong things - instead of continuing to look for what's right, they quit altogether. As for other religions having the same experiences - there's nothing I could say or do to prove to you that what I believe in is indeed correct, because it has to be a first-hand experience. Besides, there is only one true God, and it's possible to find Him even if you believed in another incorrect religion first. Trust me, if you continue to search for God, you will find Him regardless of how/where you started out. God doesn't hide from those who sincerely search for Him - instead, He makes Himself known to those who seek Him. But it's not as easy road - and it could take years, even decades and it will take extreme persistence - something many are unwilling to do, but if you're sincere in your efforts, you will be rewarded.
