TOTAL RECALL is releasing this Friday, but i'm not sure if the movie'll be better than Arnold Schwarzenneger's original movie from 90's.

Hollywood also remade some classi'c 80's movies as FOOTLOOSE, FRIGHT NIGHT, THE THING etc recently.KING KONG comes to mind as well. They also remade and remaking movies from outside America like LET THE RIGHT ONE IN, THE GRUDGE, THE RING especially for American audience.

Thing is do you enjoy "remake" movies or prefer original version as it is?

Personally i prefer original version.I really hate when they remake and ruin classi'c movies.

9 times out of 10, the remakes are cheap garbage meant to cash in on a fad or another person's movie. In general, I avoid remakes like the plague, but every so often you get something that is a truly important reshaping of a classic idea or movie premise. The Thing and to a lesser extent, King Kong both come to mind.

Also lol at Colin Farrell. And why is Kate Beckinsale in this movie? I'd rather just watch the original again.

Because her husband is the director,, that' my guess..

Sigh...

[QUOTE="bnarmz"]I wonder if anyone here would like to see these movies remade too? The running man Blade Runner The 7th voyage of Sinbad (the Sony 1958 movie) The Poseidon adventure Hallenbeck77
They remade the poseidon adventure not too long ago, it was called simply Poseidon.

really? wow, I need to check this out. I like adventure movies, hopefully they did the film justice because the original one was one of the greatest films of it's time.

Much like the premise, the movie tanked. If you have any positive recollections of what you watched in the past, don't tarnish them with this miserable movie.

The only thing I remember from it is that it starred Kurt Russel. Other than that, I don't remember too much of it. Oh, I came across this article released today regarding Ghostbusters 3, thought it might interest you. The site where they got the info initially is here.
