[QUOTE="XilePrincess"]I don't mind them at all, I quite like Australians, except one. And I don't mind the accents at all, sometimes a bit hard to understand but all in all not irritating to listen to. How can you have a 'poor man' accent? Accents do not cost money.black_chamber99
If anyone has heard Yvonne Strahovski speak then I dont see how you cant love it,
Especially on Mass Effect 2,
I'm Australian myself, I don't have an extreme aussie accent, like crocodile Dundee or anything but I guess it still is and Australian accent. I don't see why anyone would cringe after hearing it, it's hardly any different from an English accent. Remember, your media portrays Australian accents terribly, the majority doesn't sound like they're about to "Chuck a shrimp on the barbie". But it's certainly not the best accen't, but neither is America's.
Hell no. Australian/British accents on women make me melt.
Just conversing with women from the Australian/British side of the world excites me.
Most accents on women I find fairly attractive, but there's something about those non-American English accents that really get me going.
for people out side the UK, yall are all the same to us. watever, the point is the way people talk in Britain is annoying to the ears (whether its an accent or not)Is it because we don't talk as slow as you? Every vowel lasts a lifetime to my ears.[QUOTE="Nengo_Flow"][QUOTE="gamerguru100"] There's technically no such thing as a British accent, right? There are different English, Scottish, and Welsh accents, but not really a British one, if I'm not mistaken. toast_burner

Just as there are Australian accents in different areas. I'm sure I sound quite different from your typical Australian.

american english has become the true english.
I don't know exactly when it happened, but it did. even the brits had to conform

We don't conform. We use British English. There's a lot of australians around me and the other day I noticed they all speak english properly, as in bothering to pronounce every syllable and letter. In britain a lot of people are really lazy with speech and miss things out for convenience (I'm sure a fair number of aussies do this too but not any of the ones I've met). Good on them I sayEJ902So many posh sounding folks don't pronounce the g in words ending with ing and it drives me nuts sometimes.
I typically only find our accent annoying if it has a very nasal sound to it. But thankfully not too many here sound that bad. I'm in a pretty populated rural area, so a lot of guys have the "blokey" sort of accent.

sounds awful. sounds like
Bendigo.
*shudders*
or Queensland, which is infinitely worse.

lol, I actually read Bendigo in my head with the stereotypical Aussie accent. But if that's anything to go by, it's generally not as bad as that here. Similar thing, but nowhere near as nasaly.

please, just shut up
[QUOTE="gamerguru100"][QUOTE="TheFallenDemon"]How the hell does that work? Australian is a nationality, not an ethnicity. You either are Australian or you're not. lol what are you serious ? You're born in Australia and have an Australian passport = you're Australian. If you have australian ancestry but your passport is from America = you're American. I'm sick of Americans saying they're *insert nationality* just because some far out link in their ancestry can be traced back to whereever they claim to be from, they're American and nothing else. I don't walk around, claiming to be Indonese just because my mother's biological father is. I was born and raised in Denmark, my passport is Danish and I'll be Danish until I die. Possibly if I aquire dual citizenship, I might become a Dane and *insert secondary citizenship*.
AussieePet is only a "1/4" "australian" though.AussieePet
I keep reading your posts in the voice of the lead from TISM. It's better than Crocodile Dundee.I typically only find our accent annoying if it has a very nasal sound to it.
