Do You Find Aussie Accents Annoying?

Omg no i can't take aussie accent anymore omfg anyone from england will understand my fustration with the constant foster adverts on youtube i swear to god if i hear one more try hard aussie accent i will choke someone.

i think every accent can sounds nice, barring the extremes

they sound horrible to me, like a poor man's english accent, but with a little more twang. whenever I hear an aussie accent I cringe :x

The ironic thing here is that the majority of Americans haven't even heard a proper Australian accent. No, we don't sound like those ridiculous, stereotypical Australian characters (voiced by Americans, I might add) in the old 80s TV shows and commercials. Also, no, we actually don't sound like crocodile Dundee (Most of us at least). I find it rather insulting that you'd label our accent as 'Poor man's english' while you probably couldn't even distinguish my personal accent, and probably the majority of Australian's from an Englishman's accent. But just like you, our accents differ depending on our region, so I can't speak for us all. At the end of thye day, the Australian accent is no worse than the American, or any other English accent for that matter, in fact, i'd even say that Australian accents sound closer to original english than American's do.

Our accents are fine, personally I can"t stand the accents like the ones in the TV Show True Blood, makes me want to strangle them. Funny to listen to a voice recording of us tho, I don"t think we have a accent but yeah it's there, lots of slang and swearing :p Blake135

Obviously dude, just funny that I don't really pick up on my own accident that often, often hear people say "nah we don't have a accent" but yeah we do, funny when it hits me how strong mine is at times.Blake135
