I don't really think about forgiving him. I'm not sure that is my job, or that he should care.

I don't really care about what he did, its never been a big crime to me. he has more than paid his dues, lost tons of respect and most if not all his credability wit hthe general public. its time for people to move on.

Of course I do, but I wouldn't feel the least bit bad if he had to play in one of the bush leagues. I left a job without being fired, yet not on the terms they prefer and I am now on their no rehire list. I screwed it up, same with Vick, he doesn't have the "right" to play in the NFL. Roger Goodell has been beyond fair with him.

That is even less news than this. I guess I don't get the question. I should be forgiving folks I don't even know for stuff like that?

I have an opinion about what he did and such but I don't think much about "forgiveness" except with people I know.

No, I do not forgive him. He only "paid his dues" as the law saw fit for him to do so. Yeah well, **** the law when it comes to animal cruelty cases. Dude needs to be dipped Alpo treats and fed to his victims as far as I'm concerned. Going back to his million dollar lifestyle after what he did? That's just insane.

Exactly, the guy had the world by the tail and he blew it. Very few people in this world get the kind of opportunity that he did once in their lives, and now people shudder at the thought of him not getting it twice? I'm tired of this talk about not being barred from pursuing his chosen profession, if you blow a job you are generally barred from pursuing your chosen profession with them, plenty of other football leagues out there.

It's true, what he did didn't affect you. If there is anyone that has to forgive him or not, it is the law.

It's not like if he has to beg you for mercy.

Being denied re-employment at a great job where you effed it all up and repeatedly lied to your boss isn't punishment though is it? It's just reality, something Mr. Vick was clearly out of touch with for far too long.

Money and publicity, dude. You think Goodell would have reinstated him if he didn't think he could still put butts in the seat? Your job and his job are two different industries fueled by two different things.

Ask all the dogs who went through pain and death for his sick perverted fun. If a person gets "thrills" from something like two dogs ripping eachother apart, they need some serious help.

I never really cared about this situation. If he does start playing again then I'll continue to watch him, just like I watch the other players in the NFL who have committed crimes. Some against other humans beings who I care about more than animals. If he doesn't play again, I wont care.

SamusFreak

No, it's not as simple as [cat/dog = human] for me. But when the equation looks more like this [(Human responsible for numerous incidents of pain, suffering, torture and eventual death of many many animals = a wee bit of time in prison and resumption of lucrative career)]... well that just doesn't add up for me, and a little anger at the injustice of it all seems expected.

There's a BIG difference between self-raising an animal to be slaughtered for sustenance and running a dog fighting operation for profit and entertainment. Don't even get me started on the US meat industry.

Nope, but you seem to be taking exception to dissenting opinions. Goodell is doing this to avoid a poo storm, it would be the NFL equivalent to the Rodney King verdict to put a lifetime ban on the guy. It's avoiding a PR nightmare, it's got nothing to do with redemption. That's my opinion however, you won't find it on ESPN.

I don't know but I think that it's crap that this other NFL player kills someone and gets only less than a month to stay in jail and Michael Vick gets like 2 years or something I can't remember but all I know that he had got more time spent in jail than that dude. And then he's gonna say he's sorry. Wow that brings back a family member from the dead. I love animals but that guy should've gotten waaay more time than Vick. And he gets to automatically get back into football?

It's "They're all dead." Maybe Vick could get a job as this guy's tutor. *grumbles*
