favor. Humans are adaptable...thats what their purpose in life is...leaving them in jail would do nothing to them. And why spend peoples tax money to keep them alive :?
OH and i just had a random thought just now.....okay so we got people that are against the DP...and we have people saying they approve DP , because they dont want the tax money to go to the victims that committed the crimes...WELL how about this...what if families and or random people are able to form "Life in prison fund" groups to keep the victim alive in prison for the rest of his/her life......those people that join the groups would have some of their taxes go to victim. So this would be only the people in that group would be able to determine if they would want to keep the victim alive...with their own money of course.
I have more favor on torture then killing. Yes I realize that its more inhumane and it's awful but I say death penalty is too leniant on some people.
My manager told me of this guy in some foreign country who raped and killed a little girl. He said that they stripped him but naked then tied him up to a pole. They whole community then procided to whip him. Yes, that was everyone in the community that guy probably won't be doing that again anytime soon.
Against. One, I don't think any of us should have the right to decide whether or not someone lives or dies. Two, killing them seems pointless. It's like giving them an escape. Why not keep them around in the prison system and make them feel what they've made others feel?SaugaGames
Agreed.
And the law system can be flawed.
If there is ever any chance of an innocent person killed, I don't think I could live with myself. That risk just isn't worth it. For the death penalty to be enacted, I want a confession, or at least very very good proof.

They drown children, rape them, cut people up, and do all sorts of crazy **** like that. Why would they all of a sudden care about what people felt like?
against the death penalty, in favor of lifetime jail sentences actually being lifetime sentences thoughdarkodonnieI respectfully disagree. I dont want my parents Taxes going to these low lifes so they can eat.

I dont want my parents Taxes going to these low lifes so they can eat. ordering the death penalty is far more expensive than letting them sit in jail for life. As soon as the hammer comes down on "sentenced to death", the criminal immediately gets 5 more appeals which cost TONS of tax dollars, then the jailtime, then the lethal injection

Honestly, just cut the red tape and shoot him in the head. It would be cheaper, a low life is gone, and everyone would win.

How? You mean him getting raped or something in prison? He'll probably be in supermax all the time so there's not a good chance. Anyway, you just cant feel some of the stuff you do to people when you do that kind of stuff.

But they have rights. They are allowed to appeal to prove their innocence.

Okay, I'll just say exactly what I mean then... Torture. Yeah, I know... But I still think it's a better solution.

the problem with this is that already over 100 death row inmates have been able to prove their innocence after the initial trial

As sadistic and awful as it makes me sound, yes, I would. My point of view on it stems from the simple question, "What would you do if someone you loved were the victim?"

Our judicial system doesn't work that way.Exactly why I hate red tape. It can be good some times but be way too utterly detrimental at other times.

To a degree, yes. The US Judicial system can be respected for the hoops it goes through to not convict somebody who could be innocent. Only 2/100 criminals are actually convicted, because we would rather let a criminal go, than send somebody innocent to prison/jail. Obviously the system is not perfect, obviously some innocent people do get convicted, but we try.Exactly why I hate red tape. It can be good some times but be way too utterly detrimental at other times.

Someone is making that decision which is bad enough. As for your question, look at my other responses in this thread.

Well, as a Christian, I would forgive (or try to) the person, which obviously needs God. I don't gain anything by making him/her feel the same. ~ de arimasu

I believe in vice versa; I'd rather an innocent man go to jail then a criminal go free...

You know you might end up regretting about what you're saying.
No, but in some cases; yes. Like 2 of my friends were murdered in an SUV along with 1 other person. I wish Canada had that death penalty instated for people who commit horrendous crimes like that.Kikouken
I agree. and i cant imagine what its like to lose 2 friends like that and hope i never do. my sympathies.
