which islam too over?

Do you know history at all? Greece had peaked and declined centuries before the Ottomans moved in. Remind me again how the Ottomans or any muslim nation is doing now.

yes all Muslim nations today are doing bad as a whole, we are without leadership, without khilafah which the British so desperatly destroyed in the 1920's, an already weak nation yet they were so desperate to get rid of the islamic state, and now today the world tries so hard to prevent its return, you gona take this as a joke, but we are waiting for Jesus to come back, at the turn of the tide.

F*ck no. Unlike most people I know, I have 20 first cousins, they all live within a 30 minute drive of eachother, we're all roughly the same age and have the same interests, and none of us hate each other. A family gathering for me is just a regular party.

There are still 6 or 7 of them missing here. Taken last year at a party in my grandparents bar.

I don't particularly mind them, but they can be really boring. Other than a select few people (my grandfather, cousin and one of my uncles), my family isn't really the most interesting bunch. I still love them though (for the most part).

That's how my family is - the more distant female relatives happen to not wear Islamic clothes at all. And even the so-called conservative female relatives I know wear jeans, tight t-shirts, etc. despite wearing hijabs.

it depends whose side of the family we are visiting.

my moms side, i avoid family gatherings and my mom doesnt try to force me either. the only reason i avoid it, is my grandma(my moms mom).she s a huge drama freak. she acts like she cant hear you having a conversation with someone else, then when your gone, she exagerrates and changes up the story and spreads it around the famly.

one time which is the main reason to try to avoid interaction with her, i was in the kitchen at her house with my mom and my aunt. the topic of religion came up. at the time i wasa deist. my moms side of the family are religious. butmy unt was cool about it. she didnt try to talk me down or convert me, she just asked me my beliefs and such. she was just curious and was nice about it. my mom was aalso understanding. this was the first time ive ever talked religion with any family member. so unbeknownst to us, my grandma was listening in our conversation.

so later that night, my parents were getting ready to leave(they were sleeping at our aunts house cuz there was no room in my grandmas house). so as we say goodbye and such, my grandma decides to get me and my parents attention. and says she worries for me, and grabs a bible and insists that my parents have me read it. at that point, i decided id rather not stay over at my grandmas house. as she is a bible freak and she never shuts the fvck up. my parents ddnt try to stop me.

then about a week later we had found out that my grandma had gone around telling everyone that im an athiest and that they need to pray for me, also sent me a bible. so now alot of the people she told, seemed to freak out and things got all crazy and sh!t. was pretty annoying.

now i avoid her at all costs, ad my parents understand and dont try to force me.

my dads side however, are awesome.

Because I think that sex segregation is silly and there's no need for it. I'm from a very conservative Muslim family, FYI.

ghoklebutter

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CvLxahtJiaE

its called being humane and moral, something the world is trying to cover up.

The separation is just as silly and unnecessary. There's nothing wrong with genders mixing. But we'll have to agree to disagree.

The reason for teh separation is the guys usually lean towards guy talk (and generally obnoxious behavior) while the women lean towards.....gossip. He He.

Everytime we have a family potluck, the women's side sounds like a hen house.

Similiar situation but not as bad. It was for dating a black girl. My mom was against it, telling me that if I ever brought her home, she would refuse us dinner. Then my grandmother got word of this and started lecturing me on how one group belongs to this group only. I've always looked at my grandmother as a sweet old lady but that disturbed the crap out of me.

And we're not even white, we're technically Armenian. :| The funny part is that I wasn't even that interested in the girl. It was a one time thing only.

[QUOTE="GrayF0X786"]

and LOL at people against these gatherings, you will have a sad lonely ending to your life with nothing but worldy material around you.

MrPraline

While I do love money and power, I disagree with the Italian mafia on one thing: that "blood" is so important. I might be related to my family, sure, but I don't really like them. We aren't alike. We live in different parts of the country. Different circles. Sure I can knock back a few beers with my cousins but I do think family is a bit overrated. So much better relationships available with so called "strangers".

I hear it's actually quite common for relatives to live far away from each other. Though all my direct relatives (i.e. basically everyone descended from my grandparents rather than from my great grandparents) all live in the same state (actually most of us, except for two of my aunts and their families, live in the same town, heck my father's side of the family all live adjacent to each other, with my uncle being my next-door neighbor).
