To me it represents Southern Pride and remembering those who faught for the South. I'm from the South being from South Carolina but even though I have a positive view of the flag, I won't wear it or show it off. Due to so many seeing the flag as a negative symbol, I won't display it. It's not that I don't have Southern Pride, it's just not worth it to me to insult people because of it. At the high school I went to I was in the minorty with the majority being black. They had no problem with the flag but we were not allowed to wear the Confederate Flag on our clothing due to the Administration's fear of something happening because of it. My brother had a Confederate Flag hanging on his wall and I know for a fact that he only displayed it because he was proud to be from the South, it had nothing to do with anti-American views or racism.mindstorm
The people from the south were fighting for slavery....honering them is kind of like honering the nazis who were killed by russians, americans, ect.

People displaying the flag just makes me wonder if they know what it has stood for....

I'm sorry but these 'Nazis' are honored in Germany since you know...they weren't nazis but soldiers. Infact they hated nazis.

sure...I think it's a bit disgraceful if they are honored, especially considering how uptight germany is over anything nazi

oh, and the vast majority of soilders fighting for nazi germany did support the facist state, but that's beside the point. The southern states were fighting for slavery, using the flag to symbolize themselves, and the flag has since then been used in many racist contexts, including being the symbol of the kkk.

They killed Americans, russians, british french and quite a few other groups. They supported the facist state and thus deserve to no honor, people need to act like they were worthless trash, because that's what they really were.

Yeah....not a fan of nazis....

You must be a little kid right? I mean you obviously don't understand how wars work. You probably think they were all little hitlers or something like that. The actual government were the nazis, the soldiers themselves I have read many times hated to be called one and think it was disgraceful to be one. Nobody is a fan of nazis, but I'm not going to be ignorant about it and just assume everyone was 100 percent evil. Almost none were. Even Band of Brothers proves my point.

the vast majority of the soilders willfully submitted to the totalitarian state, not all were bad, but most did believe in the nazi ideology, they don't deserve anything, same with Southerners who were fighting for slavery, the swastika, like the confederate flag, need to die off.

and I believe band of brothers was a fictional tv show.

Band of Brothers was fictional? Lmao, you are way off. You are now just spewing crap out of your ass. Maybe if you actually knew enough about this subject I would take you seriously. Many facts prove that the soldiers were very much against Hitler and just wanted to get home. They hated nazis. What your saying is like saying the soldiers of Vietnam war were worthless crap. A lot of people didn't support that war and the soldiers probably didn't either. It's called a draft. The ones who actually volunteered for the German army were probably full of pride and completely behind Hitler's vision.

Many who wear it claim that is is about "southern pride"... as if wearing the flag of a faction that was destroyed about 140 years ago somehow represents "pride".
