I dont mind some jazz every now and then, and the bass lines are usually awesome to listen to. Its relaxing stuff and saxaphone solo's are awesome.

don't want to generalize, but from what jazz I've heard, its really boring. You just wait for the sax solo and that's it.

Maybe you could try modern, contemporary jazz.

I like the real random type of Jazz where every one seems to solo, or when its really up beat and quick.
I find the slower kind of Jazz really boring.

I do love jazz but I find it hard to find stuff that I like. My favourite is Stan Getz, particularly Desafinado.

I really wanted to discover jazz after reading "on the road"

but I'm afraid I reached a dead end after Miles Davis & Billie Holiday

there isnt really any other jazz musicians I like apart from them

I love listening to Jazz!

I listen to mostly late 50s/early 60s stuff. My face artists so far are definitely Trane and Mingus but I've been listening to a lot of Sonny Rollins recently. I'm listening to some Roy Ayers right now: The Red, Black & Green album.

My fave Jazz albums:

And quite possibly this too:

All kind of obvious choices but they are great, check them out if you haven't. :)

Yeah of course I do. I also play it on guitar. A lot of people think its gay or whatever, when in reality the music they listen to is probably watered down basic crap, or not even music at all. Some people listen to jazz and dont even know it.

I don't care for all the different types of jazz but I like smooth jazz. Peter White, Avenue Blue, Rick Braun, Eric Darius, are a few.

I enjoy older jazz ('50s, '60s), and it's incredible with the ladies... have supper, drink a bottle of wine, pi Getz & Gilberto on, or Louis Armstrong & Ella Fitzgerald Sing for Lovers... panties are dropping within 20 minutes

Yeap, it's is my favorite genre. I listen to older and contemporary jazz, and many styles equally. My favorite album would be Blue Train by John Coltrane.

I don't really know Jazz, but I love Jamiroquai, which I think is Funk/Jazz (am I terribly wrong here?), which has got me thinking I should give Jazz a better look.

I love Jazz-influenced music (a lot of metal is infact jazz influenced), but I find most types of jazz in their purest forms boring, especially Smooth Jazz. I can certainly listen to some regular jazz though if I'm in the mood for it.

Have you ever listened to third stream? It's a mix of jazz improvisation and cIassical music styIes. The most famous third stream album is Miles Davis Sketches of Spain if you haven't heard it.

Yea, jazz has had so much influence on the way I look at music. Jazz music for the first style to show that you could make music spontaneously just by playing what you feel. Music is all about emotion, and jazz musicians get that.

some really good metal bands like cynic and atheist have been influenced by jazz, so every now and then ill look around for some jazz musicians. its just that i never find anybody that plays to the same effect. if nothing else, i can be happy with its contemporaries.

I am a huge fan of jazz, principally the more experimental/avant-garde side of it, but I still appreciate most of the jazz I've heard, except for the generic stuff like Kenny G and such.
