This is just repeat information, but absolutely not. I've been a member for ages now and most of my time is spent lurking. Through that, I've noticed a particular pattern in a great deal of the high count posters that (and this doesn't just apply to GameSpot) that hang around just post to build up a post count and not because they're got something to contribute to the conversation. So basically, posting for the sake of posting and being in a thread.
I would totally be lying if I said no. I mean it is not a hard rule, but usually I will take a users post a little more seriously who has like a couple thousand posts more than someone who has like under 50 posts... it is just a gut reaction.
I wonder who has the highest post count on this site and how long its taken them to get there.rgd51

I respect their tact. I already have 20 moderations, so I would have trouble reaching their accolades. But a high post count can also siginify hermit syndrome, just depends on the poster and where they post.

No, I don't even look at their post count, unless someone mentions it or it's a party or something. Level doesn't matter to meeither. It shows nothing more than the amount of time a person spends on here. This being a forum, I respect people based on their ability to debate well and their manner while doing so.
No I don't respect them more because they have a high post count. It's not something that demands respect. I do have basic respect for any person I meet, on the internet or otherwise unless they don't deserve it.

the only guys i could EVER see as "posting gods" are double_decker, jakeboudeville and fastesttruck, D_D with almost 120k and jake with 98k, i think, no one else deserves this "honour (if you can call it that)
People with very high levels and high post counts, i suppose. There are people here, not naming any names, who have epic post counts but contribute absolutely nothing other than +1 posts to increase their total count.

Sure a bit. I respect the fact they've been here a long time or are very dedicated to this site. By the same token someone with a very low post count who makes a good point gets my respect as well.
I don't look upto people with higher post counts than I, as they could be mainly spamming... I look at/up to people with higher levels (I'm level 25) of experience than I.
A bit as someone with a high post count is more likely to be joking or being sarcastic than trolling though it's only one factor that makes me respect someone on here
