If so, why? I did a little bit after I broke up with my girlfriend. Kind of a way to deal with the stress. Sounds lame, but it worked for me.

No, but it's usually because of addiction, stress-relief, and/or the occasional to be cool.

No. My grandpa had lung cancer so that was a turnoff for me. And growing up with my Dad smoking didn't help either.

I smoke because it's relaxing, enjoyable in both social and independent settings, and it relieves stress.

This. Also, I've heard that the best way to strengthen a part of your body is to work it out, so I figured this would be a good way to build up my lung capacity. So far it's iffy, but I'm sure I'll get over it soon enough.

It is very relaxing, especially when you go out on the front porch at night. Silence. I like it.

I smoke one or two sticks when I'm drinking because I dont know any better thanks to the alcohol (well jk sorta - its just because it seems to balance it out for me).

But its not something that I must do. If its there I wont decline it. Never bought my own.

You don't start off serious and then branch off to sarcasm. Not at least without a break inbetween the two.

Nah. I have smoked several times before, but it's FAR from a habit. I don't even smoke enough to be considered a social smoker. I don't like it, but every once in a while I get a strange urge to smoke a cigarette or two, so I will with a couple of friends when they're in the strange mood to as well.

No way. My dad smokes. When I was like 7 I found out it was bad for you and I hid all his cigarettes because I didn't want him to die.

Lung cancer. No thanks. Spending all that money. No thanks. The smell. No thanks.

There is no good reason to smoke, it's only to relieve an accquired dependancy which is very costly, health wise and financially.

Have a glass of milk instead.

My dad just demanded to know where they were and he was getting really stressed. Then I saw that hiding them wouldn't fix anything.

Huh, some people really need their fix. The angriest I've ever been was when I decided to stock up by buying a carton and my dog tried eating them. I didn't yell though, I figured digestive problems would be punishment enough.

Yes, I smoke weed a few times a month. Why? If you have to ask that you have obviously never tried it. It pretty much makes everything more fun. EVERYTHING is better.

I used to smoke a pack a day, maybe more. I started when I was around 14, when I couldn't get high, and it was on and off. Eventually it was just a habit, like pooing or brushing your teeth.

I smoke because it's fun, it gets me high, it makes me look cool, and because it gives me something to do.

Really dude, if not for cigarettes, I'd never have an excuse to take a break during work. If I'm not smoking, what the hell else am I gonna do during my break? DRink a glass of water? Pfft, no, I can do that DURING work. Smoking is actually the ONLY thing that gives me a legitimate excuse to stop working. If I'm not smoking, then why do I even need a break at all?

Now, one could obviously go to the restroom during breaks, but I don't do that. If I've gotta take a dump at work, I am NOT doing it during my break. I'll do it BEFORE my break, then I'll clock out and have a cigarette, but I am NOT going to the restroom while I'm off the clock. **** that. Going to the restroom is an acceptable reason to stop working without clocking out, and I take full advantage of that.

Ples, if you're smoking, no one's going to say "Put that **** out and come back to work!" They're going to allow you to finish. It's an easy way to get 2-5 more minutes of break in. Especially if you think ahead and light up right before the end of break. Of course this probably only works on night shift jobs where everyone takes breaks at the same time. Dunno.
