After seeing how Hillary Clinton and Sarah Palin were treated, I don't know why any woman would ever want to run for office let alone President. There is so much sexism in both parties that it's disgusting.

They are the policies that would make the US a happier place. That is the only the way I think a woman president would make the US a happier place.just like the black guy is no different from the white guy before. collective reasoning fails again. lol, what? Do you ever know what you're talking about? Obama was not elected because people thought a black president woudl be better than a white one. He was a better cannidate than McCain was at the end of the day. sure buddy, because mccain, standing on bush's shoulders is so different than obama doing so... there was no substantive difference then and there is none now.[QUOTE="surrealnumber5"][QUOTE="coolbeans90"]
I do not think that a woman president would be any different than another male presidency.

You should move to the Northwest Territories or Siberia, not many people to compete for resources with there.

I'm not American nor do I think I can speak for a majority of them. I was just meaning that a president is evaluated by his policies, not his gender. So I think a woman's policies is what will make the US a happier place or not.[QUOTE="worlock77"]

I've heard of her, she's the one that married Mohammed when she was 10, right?
Don't say I don't know anything about Islam.
No. The only chance a female president would have to affect real change would be to gangbang all of congress. Then she might hold some sway.
If i was American i would run for president and make it way better AussieePetHehe, and what would your first policy be?! :P

do you know anything about the basis of this hadith? when it was spoken? and the context of it. not to mention the problems that arise when you realize when and how the hadiths were collected? There are several instances where women were appointed or got elected to positions of power in the islamic world throughout history. ah you know what? fvck it.... i don't care.[QUOTE="ghoklebutter"] [QUOTE="Victorious_Fize"] Must be why Aisha lead Muslims in the battle of Jamal...SaudiFuryI know. The context doesn't make it any better, but here:
During the battle of Al-Jamal, Allah benefited me with a Word (I heard from the Prophet). When the Prophet heard the news that the people of the Persia had made the daughter of Khosrau their Queen (ruler), he said, "Never will succeed such a nation as makes a woman their ruler."
I'll give you one point, though; there were a lot of problems with the collection of ahadith. If anything, though I'm inclined to trust that a hadith from Sahih Bukhari is reliable. Also, this is only about whether women can be rulers in Islam; of course, many scholars have permitted women to be judges and so on. But given the patriarchal character of Islam, I don't think it seems unreasonable to say that Muhammad didn't want women to be rulers.

Did you literally apostatize yourself from anti-Muslim sites? It talks about the situation in Persia at the time: the Sassanid dynasty were facing strife among each other, so the Sassanid king ordered to murder all the males (cry me your misogyny plox) but his son, the irony of the situation is that his son died before him not long afterwards, so they had to find a heir, and out of all the great Persian men of the time available to lead the empire, they've chosen a woman, the prophet was shocked, seeing this as an extreme indication of lack of competence, and thus, said the statement. Not to mention this refers to non-Muslim leaders of the female gender altogether. For Islam takes measures to ensure a woman leads in dignity with a code of pride, as is the case with Aisha, which not only lead Muslims spiritually, but also participated in battles, and she was the wife of the prophet, and knew him more than all companions combined. This is not to say non-Muslims can't have female leaders with a history of success, but it definitely says that Islam doesn't do much with gambles.
BTW, what's with the check mates? I thought you liked preaching about the, in CptSparrow's word, "epistemological no absolutes gobbldyg*ock"...
