Do you think America will lose the lead within the next 50 years?

I think America needs to fall. It needs to fall so it can rise up again as a better nation.

Fall, nope. Loose superpower status, maybe. The US government is really a mess from how I'm seeing it. You have one party that says "No" to EVERYTHING, and listens to Insane Asylum rejects. The other is hopelessly useless, and caves in to the other parties demands instantaneously. You havea President that can't even get his party tovote unanimously to stop what he does from getting blocked, and he ignores the demands from his base (Public option anyone?). And to top it all off the US government is extremly corrupt, hell they have laws for legal bribes pretty much (Lobbyists).

I'm not from America but seeing all this debt, problem, healthcare, war ect, made me think that within the next 50 years, America will not be in the lead. Well it's my opinion so don't judge me.

America isn't a sinking ship by any means. People act as if nations never go through years of turmoil. Ultimately, the United States will come out of this situation in better shape than before. Everything that we are experiencing now is a direct result of a refusal to accept the fact that we were headed on our current coarse long ago. People knew many of these problems were on the horizon and chose to ignore them. At least now the government is in a position were it needs to fix these problems now.

Bush lost the popular vote to Gore and the college's votes were neck in neck so the supreme court put him in. I don't understand how he was re-elected.
