if person who says eating is fine? then do they think eating something like a cat or dog is fine? Or even a human?
I saw this on a show called Madventures btw.

Eating cats and dogs is taboo because those are considered pets but in china they eat dogs, eating humans is also a taboo but animals can eat humans without remorse. What I'm trying to say is that only humans think eating something is correct or incorrect because of the value we give to those lives, plants are alive too but nobody seems to care if they die to feed us.if person who says eating is fine? then do they think eating something like a cat or dog is fine? Morally, well that depends on person to person.
It is, however, natural and I see nothing wrong with the circle of life.
Anyone who eats meat is a huge polluter. If I remember correctly, it's actually the biggest source of greenhouse gases.RK-Mara
I'm okay with that.
All moral judgments are entirely subjective. I don't think eating meat is "wrong", at least in the absolutist sense that most people would interpret this situation as. No more wrong than it would be to eat vegetables, anyway.
This topic is up fairly often, is it not?
Anyways Ill say what I always say:
If all people on earth were to go vegitatian, or vegan, the space needed for the food would be mindblowing, and kill atleast just as many animals due to all the nature that needs to be restructured to fields.
Remember, a human being can NOT live of potatoes, they need Protine, starch, calsium, fat, sugar, salt (and the list goes on).
If we were all to get that from plants, the sheer space needed would be mindboggeling, and far far more inefficiant then meat is. And also less viable for the soil we use for it. And alot of those plants, are really unhealthy in the volumes that needs to be consumed (like beans)
The basic fact is that the human body is geared to sustain itself on a mix of meat and plants, which makes it very hard to skip meat without serious side effects.
To illustrate my point feel free to look up the life expectency og vegetarians (not that bad for them) and Vegans (die quite young), and then look up what is needed daily to support the possability of them living.
Ive found that most people who are against humans eating meat are people that have lived really sheltered lifes with no touch in the state of nature, and how nature is connected, and what each animal needs to survive.
Likely people who havenever seen where milk, or meat comes from, and think you can grow what is needed everywhere on earth. Thinking they have a golden answer no one ever thought about before... Personally I tend to dislike that specific kind of people, because they do no rescearch about how the things work. If it is from a religious purpose I do understand it alot more tho (accept).
To me It has never been a question of eating meat, but treating the animal well before it die, afterall alot of animals lives quite long, and likely a good life before it is turned into lovely meat, it is consumers that decides how well an animal have lived.
Hmm... maybe you could provide that data instead since the quick search I ran under "vegetarian life expectancy" suggested that vegetarians have an average life expectancy two to four years greater than meat eaters. Not saying you're wrong, but as it stands, that's an unsubstantiated claim. To illustrate my point feel free to look up the life expectency og vegetarians (not that bad for them) and Vegans (die quite young), and then look up what is needed daily to support the possability of them living.

I for one believe that we have the power and right to manipulate them into a source of vital nutrients, as the superior species of this world.

That sounds like it's straight out of the mouth of Dwight K. Schrute.
I seriously can't get over that sentence.
I don't see anything wrong with it. we evolved (or created if you like) to eat meat. OntainOr it could be both. We were created and evolved to eat meat!
I dunno i love meat but somehow i just think it's wrong that were practically raping a species i mean they have no chance of survival....walkingdreamAnd yet, they survive... some how...
And yet, they survive... some how... I'm talking individual animals, i mean shouldn't ever calf have a right to try to survive? Anyways meat is to tasty it's just a thought[QUOTE="walkingdream"]I dunno i love meat but somehow i just think it's wrong that were practically raping a species i mean they have no chance of survival....smokeydabear076
No I do not, I am attempting to become a vegetarian but is has nothing to do with the morality of consuming dead creatures. Honestly I just feel much healthier when I don't eat meat.
I think eating meat is just fine. We would never have survived this long as a species without the benefits of a meat-rich diet, it's necessary to our survival. Nothing wrong with killing animals either, so long as it is done humanely and done for the purpose of using every part of that animal for food/production,etc.
